Swig Drinks to Open Drive-Through Soda Shop in Cypress with Signature Dirty Sodas and Sweet Treats

April 07 2025

The fizzy, flavor-packed world of Swig Drinks is coming soon to Cypress, Texas. Known for its unique take on customizable “dirty sodas”, Swig is set to open a new drive-through-only location at 9526 Fry Road near Bridgeland, Miramesa, Cypress Creek Lakes and Towne Lake, adding to the growing list of Swig locations across the Greater Houston area.

According to state permit filings, the new 980-square-foot Swig facility will feature a kitchen, storage area, and bathroom—but no interior space for customers, as the site will exclusively operate as a drive-through soda shop. The project is expected to break ground in late May 2025, with completion anticipated by late September 2025.

What is Swig and What Makes It Unique?

Founded in 2010 by Nicole Tanner in St. George, Utah, Swig has become one of the most recognizable names in the specialty beverage space, offering a bold twist on traditional fountain drinks. The brand’s signature menu item—the “dirty soda”—is a customizable blend of soda with add-ins like flavored syrups, creams, purees, and fruit. Popular combinations include ingredients like coconut, peach, and vanilla, giving customers the freedom to create their own unique refreshment.

Swig's menu doesn’t stop at soda. Patrons can also enjoy sparkling water refreshers, lemonades, iced teas, and frosty milkshakes. For health-conscious consumers, Swig offers sugar-free flavors and caffeine-free options, making it a beverage destination that caters to a wide range of tastes and dietary preferences.

The company also dishes out a rotating menu of sweet and salty snacks, including its cult-favorite fresh sugar cookies, crispy churros, and warm pretzels—perfect pairings for its refreshing drinks.

Swig's Growing National and Houston-Area Presence

Since its founding, Swig has grown from a single Utah storefront into a national brand with more than 80 locations across the U.S. and hundreds more in development. The company has made a notable entrance into Texas’ booming beverage and snack market, with existing locations in Fulshear and Katy, and now Cypress joining the lineup.

The Cypress shop will be part of Swig's strategic push into fast-growing suburban markets, where demand for quick, drive-through drink options is strong. In addition to its catchy branding and fan-favorite menu, Swig’s reputation for fast, friendly service and community involvement has helped it win a devoted following.

A Company with a Cause

Swig isn’t just about tasty drinks and snacks—it’s a brand with heart. Founder Nicole Tanner launched Swig following a personal battle with breast cancer, which inspired the company’s annual “Save the Cups” campaign. This initiative helps women pay off medical bills related to breast cancer treatment and has become a central part of Swig’s identity, blending business success with charitable purpose.

Through its colorful drinks, community campaigns, and lighthearted atmosphere, Swig continues to deliver on its mission of bringing joy to people’s everyday routines—one cup at a time.

What Cypress Can Expect

When Swig opens in Cypress in late 2025, locals can expect a quick, high-energy drive-through experience, complete with endless drink combinations and sweet snack options—all without ever leaving the comfort of their car. Whether you're on your way to work, school, or simply craving something refreshing, Swig promises to offer a fast and fun new favorite for families, students, and commuters alike.
