Spectators Bar & Grill Opens in Katy with 45 TVs, Weekend Brunch and Family-Friendly Dining
In Katy, the best neighborhood restaurants often become more than places to eat. They are where families meet after Saturday games, coworkers unwind at the end of the day and friends claim a table before kickoff.
Spectators Bar & Grill is hoping to become one of those familiar gathering places with the opening of its fourth Houston-area location at 25140 Kingsland Blvd., Suite 1000.
The new Katy restaurant combines the energy of a sports bar with the broader appeal of a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant. Its large dining room, outdoor patio, children’s menu and private gathering spaces are designed to accommodate everything from a quick weekday lunch to a birthday dinner or a crowded playoff watch party.
For Katy residents, the opening adds another locally owned dining option in a fast-growing part of the community—and one that is built with groups in mind.
“Katy has a strong sense of community, making it an ideal place to continue growing the Spectators brand,” owner Aneal Mohammud said. “We want to create a neighborhood destination that offers all the excitement of a great sports bar while still feeling comfortable and welcoming for families. Whether guests are joining us for brunch, dinner, a birthday celebration or the big game, we want them to feel at home.”
A New Gathering Place on Kingsland Boulevard
The approximately 6,500-square-foot restaurant can seat 275 guests, making it large enough for busy game days without feeling limited to sports fans.
There are 45 televisions throughout the space, giving guests a view of the action from nearly every part of the dining room. That will likely make the restaurant a draw during Texans, Astros, Rockets and college football games, but Spectators is also set up for the everyday moments that tend to bring Katy neighbors together.
Private rooms can be reserved for birthday parties, family gatherings, work events and youth sports celebrations. Outside, a spacious patio includes tables for groups and families, along with a 19-seat bar.
The flexible setup may be especially useful in a community where school activities, club sports and family schedules often determine where—and when—people can meet.
Spectators Grows from Sugar Land to Katy
Spectators Bar & Grill began building its following in Sugar Land, where its original restaurant opened on Lake Pointe Parkway. The locally owned brand later expanded to Riverstone in Sugar Land and Harvest Green in Richmond before moving farther west into Katy.
With the Katy opening, Spectators now operates four restaurants across Fort Bend County and the greater Houston area.
The brand describes itself as an elevated neighborhood sports bar, but its menu and atmosphere are intended to reach beyond the traditional game-day crowd. Families can order from a full menu while children under age 12 have their own “Little Sluggers” selections. Guests can also visit for weekend brunch, weekday happy hour, live music or an evening on the patio.
That combination has helped Spectators grow as a restaurant for both sports fans and families—two groups that frequently overlap in Katy.
Burgers, Wings and Shareable Favorites
The Spectators Bar & Grill Katy menu is centered on familiar American food, with enough variety for groups whose members may not all be craving the same thing.
One of the restaurant’s signature dishes is the Spectators Famous Prime Beef Cheeseburger, made with a blend of brisket, chuck and short rib. Other featured items include the Hot Honey Crispy Chicken Sandwich and wings tossed in flavors such as Garlic Parmesan, Jalapeño Apricot, Lemon Pepper, Barbecue and Buffalo.
The menu also includes several appetizers meant for the center of the table. Texas Twinkies feature bacon-wrapped jalapeños filled with Philly cheesesteak, while Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and Southwest Chicken Egg Rolls offer additional shareable options.
Beyond burgers and wings, Spectators serves pizzas, steaks, seafood, sandwiches and other casual dining favorites.
Children under age 12 can choose from cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, quesadillas and grilled cheese.
The beverage program includes more than 60 cocktails across the Spectators brand, ranging from margaritas and martinis to smoked old fashioneds and shareable drinks. Featured selections include the Spectator Smash, Spicy Peach Margarita, Jon-Tini and Maple Bacon Old Fashioned.
Weekend Brunch Offers a Relaxed Start to the Day
Katy families looking for a new weekend brunch spot can visit Spectators from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The brunch menu includes Chicken and Waffles, French Toast, Pancakes, Breakfast Tacos, a Breakfast Burrito and the Spectators Grand Slam. Guests with a heartier appetite can order the Hangover Burger.
Brunch drink options include $4 mimosas, $14 mimosa flights and $4 Bloody Marys or Bloody Marias. The Mimosa Tower and Blackberry Mint Mimosa are also available.
The early weekend hours could make Spectators a convenient stop before youth sports, shopping or other family activities. They also give fans a place to watch morning and midday sporting events that begin before many traditional sports bars open.
Happy Hours, Live Music and Group Celebrations
Spectators Bar & Grill Katy offers several happy-hour periods throughout the week.
Weekday happy hour runs from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, followed by reverse happy hour from 9 p.m. to midnight. Weekend happy hour is available from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Live music is planned on select Friday and Saturday evenings, giving the restaurant another identity beyond its television-lined dining room.
With private spaces and room for large groups, the Katy location may also become a convenient gathering place for school organizations, neighborhood groups, sports teams and families celebrating milestones close to home.
OpenTable reservations and online ordering are expected to become available soon.
