UPCOMING EVENTS

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT – TUESDAY, OCTOBER 4TH
National Night out is Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 5pm-9pm. Please help organize a gathering for your street.  Or, please find a neighbor or group of neighbors on your street to help coordinate something for your street on that night. This event can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it. Reach out to all the neighbors on your street to get ideas and find volunteers that can help and utilize your neighbor's talents at your event. The objective of NNO is to build neighborhood camaraderie by getting to know the neighbors that live around you and making our neighborhood a safer, more caring place to live. This event also gives us the opportunity to bring police and Southcreek neighbors together in a positive setting, which helps create a positive police-community partnership. NNO also provides a great opportunity for you to update the contact information for all the neighbors on your street, and even create a street roster to share with your neighbors.

Whoever is coordinating the event for your street should register their street by September 21, 2022 through the following link:

You should also register your street by emailing Bob McCavitt at BobDean12@aol.com.  When registering your street with Bob McCavitt, you need to put NNO 2022 in the subject line.

CHRISTMAS AT THE GAZEBO – DECEMBER 10
Mark your calendars for the Christmas at the Gazebo.  It is a great way to start off your Holiday season by volunteering and attending the Christmas at the Gazebo. Watch the newsletter and UManage for more information about Christmas at the Gazebo.

CHRISTMAS DECORATING CONTEST – JUDGING ON DECEMBER 16TH through the  18TH
There will be a contest to judge “our best” decorated homes for the season.  We will be awarding a cash prize for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.  Homes will be judged on Friday, December 16th through Sunday, December 18th.  Be sure that you have you Christmas lights on all three nights.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

GARAGE SALE – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are looking for volunteers to help with the Fall Garage Sale.  The volunteers are needed to put up the signs throughout Southcreek advertising our Garage Sale and removing the signs once the Garage Sale has taken place.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Want to get more involved in your neighborhood, but don’t know who to ask?
The Southcreek Board is made up of residents who volunteer their time to enrich our community.  We are looking for other eager residents to also serve as volunteers to help out on numerous committees.  The Board believes that if our community has a strong volunteer base, then our neighborhood will shine and prosper.  We have several committees that could use volunteers:  Architectural Review Committee, Crime Watch Committee, Deed Restriction Committee, Pool and Parks Committee, and the Social Committee.  We also have a need for Block Captains.  If you would like more information about how to get involved or would like to volunteer, please contact Judith Carey at Judith.Carey@att.net. Getting involved in your community is a great way to meet neighbors. Thanks to our residents for considering these positions!

BLOCK CAPTAINS
Do you want to know what’s going on in your neighborhood? BE A BLOCK CAPTAIN. Block captains receive emails from the Block Captain Chairman, Bryne Liner.  The emails let you know what’s going on in our neighborhood. We ask that once the Block captains receive an email, they pass the information on to the other neighbors on their street. Being a Block captain requires a relatively small amount of time, but the block captain plays a very important role in our community. If you would like information about who your block captain is or would like to be a block captain, you can contact Bryne Liner at bryneliner@gmail.com.
