Meet the 2026 Board of the Cy-Fair Women’s Club: Leading With Heart, Service, and Purpose
In a community like Cypress, where neighbors still lend a hand and friendships often begin over shared purpose, the Cy-Fair Women’s Club (CWC) has become a place where that spirit of connection thrives. With 111 active members and a long-standing motto of “bringing women together to better our community,” this all-volunteer, nonprofit group has spent decades doing exactly that—raising funds, donating time, and supporting those who need it most.
In 2024 alone, CWC volunteers gave more than 9,500 hours of service, raised $65,000, distributed over 600 comfort pillows to cancer patients, and awarded $35,000 in scholarships to local students. Whether packing food boxes or organizing the massive Shop 'til You Drop Marketplace fundraiser, these women show up—with heart, with humor, and with a whole lot of pink.
As the club steps into 2026, a new board of leaders is ready to carry the torch. Each one brings her own story, strengths, and commitment to making a difference. If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind the events, fundraisers, and service projects that help shape the Cy-Fair community—this is your chance to meet them. Let’s introduce the 2026 Cy-Fair Women’s Club Board.
Cathy Smith – President
Cathy Smith has lived in Hearthstone for over 30 years. She’s a proud CFISD parent and now a grandmother to twins. Cathy joined the club in 2009 and has served on the board for the past six years, but her leadership experience goes even further—she’s also been president of several legal organizations in Houston.
“As President, I will be guided by the Cy-Fair Women’s Club’s vision statement, which is ‘Bringing women together to better our community,’” she said. “My goal is to engage more of our members to carry out our vision of bettering the Cy-Fair community.”
Her passion for service runs deep, and she’s excited to help more women get involved.

Linda Cox – Vice President, Programs
If there’s a thread running through the history of CWC, Linda Cox is part of it. She joined back when it was still called the Copperfield Women’s Club and meetings were held in a church across from Lowery Elementary. Linda’s worn just about every hat—Ways and Means Chair, Membership, Bylaws, and more.
“I have chaired Ways and Means, Fundraising, Adopt-a-Cause, Bylaws, Parliamentarian, Membership – too many to remember,” she laughed.
As VP of Programs, she brings creativity and continuity to the club’s monthly gatherings, which blend service, guest speakers, and a touch of fun.
Heathre Black – Vice President, Membership
After raising her children in Cypress for 35 years, Heathre Black found herself an empty-nester in 2022, looking for a new purpose. She walked into her first CWC meeting and instantly knew she’d found her place.
“What sets CWC apart is the environment. Our members are supportive, genuine and also like to have fun together,” Heathre shared. “If serving the community is your passion and you're looking for an authentic environment, come check us out!”
As VP of Membership, Heathre ensures that everyone—from brand-new guests to longtime members—feels welcomed and valued.

Since joining in 2018, Susan Glass has quietly transformed how the club operates. She founded and still leads the Information & Technology Committee, helping CWC modernize communication and volunteer management with new systems and software.
Susan brings “strong organizational skills, creativity, and a passion for community engagement and fundraising to support CWC’s mission.”
Now overseeing fundraising efforts, Susan will help lead the charge for Shop 'til You Drop—CWC’s signature marketplace event that brings in thousands of shoppers and helps fund everything from scholarships to food pantry donations.
Linda Rodriguez – Treasurer
Linda Rodriguez knows numbers—and knows Cypress. She’s lived in the area for 50 years and worked in accounting for 37 of them before retiring. With her two sons and five grandchildren all living close by, Linda is deeply rooted in the community and passionate about giving back.
“My passion besides family is travel and giving back via the many CWC opportunities,” she said.
As Treasurer, she helps make sure the club’s generous giving is managed wisely, and that every dollar raised makes its way into the hands of those who need it.
Kathleen Grant – Secretary
Kathleen Grant spent 28 years teaching in Spring Branch ISD before retiring in 2021. It didn’t take long before she was itching to get involved again—and when she stumbled upon the Shop 'til You Drop event in 2023, she was curious. She went to the next open house and joined on the spot.
“I loved what I heard about the philanthropic work the club does. I wanted to be part of that,” she said.
Now Secretary, Kathleen also serves on several committees and co-chairs Ladies Night Out. For her, CWC has become more than just a club—it’s a second home.
