Shafer Senior Clap Out 2025: A Heartfelt Send-Off for Katy Graduates Returning to Their Elementary Roots

April 10 2025

As the Class of 2025 prepares to toss their caps and step into the next chapter, Shafer Elementary is welcoming back its former Knights for a heartfelt “Senior Clap Out” on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 1:45 p.m. Held on the school’s playground basketball court at 5150 Ranch Point Dr., Katy, TX 77494, this special event honors graduating high school seniors who once walked Shafer’s halls.

The Shafer Senior Clap Out 2025 is more than a ceremony — it's a community tradition that brings students, staff, and families together to celebrate the journey from elementary school to graduation. It's a moment of nostalgia, reflection, and applause as former students return to where their educational journey began.

A Celebration of Former Knights

Organized by Shafer Elementary, the event features a class photo, a cheerful clap out procession, and a reception to honor the achievements of these soon-to-be high school graduates. Seniors are asked to wear their cap and gown over a college shirt and jeans, proudly showcasing the path ahead while remembering the roots behind them.

All attending seniors must present their Student ID for check-in. To ensure a smooth entry process, students must RSVP by May 9, 2025, using the following link: RSVP Here

This celebratory event is exclusively for current high school seniors who attended Shafer Elementary School. It’s a time-honored tradition in the Katy community that honors milestones while creating new memories.

Families Welcome — Don’t Forget to Get RAPTORED

Shafer Elementary encourages family members to join in the celebration. To help speed up check-in on event day, families are advised to visit the school prior to May 19 to be entered into the RAPTOR system, which is used for visitor check-in and badge printing. Doing this early means your badge will be pre-printed and ready upon arrival, helping avoid wait times. Those who don’t pre-register will need to check in with the front desk the day of the event.

A Community-Focused Graduation Tradition in Katy

The Shafer Senior Clap Out is a shining example of Katy’s commitment to fostering lasting relationships between students and their neighborhood schools. Events like this not only honor academic milestones but also bring together generations, educators, and families in celebration of growth and achievement.

For graduating seniors in Katy ISD, especially those from Shafer Elementary, this event offers a unique blend of closure and celebration. It's a powerful reminder of where they started—and the community that continues to cheer them on.

Be sure to RSVP, wear your cap and gown, and get ready for the applause — your elementary school is proud of you!
