“To have two ensembles from the same school named winners of this year’s American Prize is no small feat,” said Kerri Finnesand, Principal of Seven Lakes High School. “I am so proud of these dedicated students and educators for this accomplishment.”
Founded in 2010, The American Prize is the nation’s most comprehensive series of performing arts contests, recognizing excellence in a variety of disciplines. Each year, musicians, vocalists, and ensembles from across the United States submit recordings to be judged for their performances. The American Prize in Orchestral Performance honors the finest performances by orchestras in America, with winners selected based on the quality and impact of their submitted recordings.
As the orchestra continues to build on its success, Seven Lakes remains a leader in fostering outstanding musical talent in Katy ISD.
