Sunny’s Expands to San Antonio: Popular Boerne All-Day Brunch Restaurant Opening Second Location at The RIM
San Antonio's brunch scene is about to get a little brighter.
Sunny’s All-Day Brunch & Bar, the popular all-day brunch restaurant that quickly gained a following in Boerne, is preparing to open its second location at The RIM in San Antonio on June 15, 2026. The expansion comes less than a year after the restaurant first welcomed guests to its flagship location at 518 River Road in Boerne.
For residents of Northwest San Antonio, The RIM, and surrounding communities, the new location will bring another locally owned dining option to one of the city's busiest retail and entertainment districts. The opening also marks continued growth for a restaurant concept that was created in response to what owner Albion Zogaj heard repeatedly from local residents: a desire for more brunch options.
From Boerne Riverfront Favorite to San Antonio Expansion
Sunny’s officially debuted in Boerne on June 16, 2025, occupying the former Rivulet space along the riverfront. The restaurant was developed by Zogaj, who is also known for operating Albi’s Vite Italian Kitchen in San Antonio.
When the Boerne location was announced, Zogaj explained that the concept grew directly from conversations with area residents.
“We will still have our Italian restaurants, but I live in Boerne, and people always tell me they look for brunch, so I wanted to build what the community asked for,” Zogaj said.
That community-driven approach appears to have resonated. Within its first year, Sunny’s established itself as a destination for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, specialty coffee, cocktails, and outdoor dining overlooking the river.
Now, the concept is making the jump into the San Antonio market with its newest location at The RIM.
What Makes Sunny’s Different?
While national brunch chains have expanded across Texas in recent years, Sunny’s has built its identity around an extensive menu that blends classic breakfast favorites with Tex-Mex, Mediterranean, and globally inspired flavors.
The restaurant markets itself as an all-day brunch and bar concept featuring made-from-scratch dishes, specialty mimosa towers, handcrafted cocktails, and signature coffee beverages.
Menu highlights include birria-inspired brunch dishes such as Birria Benny and El Jefe Chilaquiles, alongside traditional favorites like Eggs Benedict, buttermilk pancakes, French toast, omelets, and chicken and waffles.
The menu also features an extensive selection of sweet and savory crepes, including The Brunch Cowboy, Boerne Benedict, Berry Divine, and Cinnamon Roll Crepe.
Beyond breakfast, guests can choose from burgers, sandwiches, Mediterranean-inspired plates, grilled chicken dishes, salads, and seared salmon entrées.
Specialty Coffee and Brunch Cocktails Add to the Experience
Part of Sunny’s appeal has been its focus on creating a destination experience rather than a traditional breakfast stop.
Its beverage menu includes specialty coffee creations such as the Pistachio Palace, Ferrero Mocha, Tiramisu Latte, Pretty in Pink, and Lavender Bloom Latte.
The restaurant has also become known for its brunch-oriented cocktail program and mimosa towers, helping attract guests looking for weekend gatherings, celebrations, and social brunch outings.
Combined with all-day service, the concept appeals to diners seeking everything from a morning coffee meeting to an evening meal with friends.
What the New Location Means for San Antonio
The arrival of Sunny’s at The RIM adds another locally owned restaurant to a growing area that continues attracting new retail, dining, and entertainment investment.
For nearby residents in areas such as Stone Oak, Leon Springs, Shavano Park, Helotes, and Northwest San Antonio, the opening provides a new option for brunch, casual dining, and specialty coffee without traveling to Boerne.
The expansion also reflects the continued demand for all-day brunch concepts across the San Antonio region, particularly those offering unique menu items and locally driven experiences.
As more residents seek dining destinations that blend quality food, social atmosphere, and flexible hours, Sunny’s appears positioned to bring the formula that worked in Boerne to one of San Antonio’s busiest commercial corridors.
What Happens Next
Sunny’s is scheduled to open its second location at The RIM on June 15, 2026.
The restaurant's original location remains open at 518 River Road in Boerne, where guests can enjoy riverside dining, brunch favorites, specialty coffee drinks, cocktails, and the menu that helped launch the growing Texas concept.
For brunch enthusiasts across San Antonio, the countdown is officially underway.
