For Bluestem residents looking for an easy way to meet local first responders, connect with nearby businesses and spend an evening getting to know the broader Brookshire community, National Night Out 2026 is coming up this fall.

The Brookshire Police Department will host National Night Out on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 4029 5th Street in Brookshire. The community event is designed to strengthen relationships among residents, law enforcement, local organizations and businesses while creating an informal setting where neighbors can connect face to face.

For families in Bluestem and across the Brookshire community, the evening offers more than another event on the calendar. National Night Out is centered on the idea that safer, more connected communities are built when residents and first responders have opportunities to know one another outside of an emergency.

Brookshire Police Department is encouraging residents to attend and is also looking for local businesses and organizations interested in hosting booths during the event.

Booth space is free, with no registration fee or charge for participating organizations. Businesses, nonprofits and community groups can use their space to share information, introduce residents to available resources, offer giveaways or simply become more familiar to the people they serve.

For Bluestem residents, that could mean discovering nearby services and organizations while also meeting the officers and first responders who serve the Brookshire area.

The Brookshire Police Department is especially encouraging local businesses and organizations to participate.

National Night Out booths can provide information, community resources or giveaways, giving participating groups a chance to introduce themselves directly to Brookshire-area families. For locally owned businesses, churches, nonprofits, civic organizations and other community groups, the event also provides a way to support first responders while becoming more connected with the people who live nearby.
