Greek Readers Theater: Antigone

Friday, August 5 @ 7:30 PM
Let your imagination run wild as actors set the scene for this classic Sophocles play. Antigone, the daughter of King Oedipus, stands up against an immoral law, risking her life in the process. As Antigone defies the law, proudly standing up for her beliefs, the audience questions whether morality is defined by laws or by personal convictions and virtues. Miniature Golf

Mondays through Fridays @ 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturdays @ 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Sundays @ 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
The miniature golf course is open to the public. Clubs and balls are available in the front lobby. Players must check in with staff at the front desk. History Discussion Group: Archeological Discovery at Dimond Knoll

Each month, we talk about a different book, article, or historical topic. In August, Sharon Menegaz, a member of the Texas Historical Commission’s Stewards Network, will speak on one of the most significant archeological discoveries in Harris County – Dimond Knoll. More than 1,000 artifacts were recovered from the site during its excavation in 2012. The talk will include slides of the artifacts recovered, the story of our outreach programs, and the research still going on into the peoples that have lived and traded goods in our area since Paleoindian times. Discovery Days: An Avian Adventure – Live Birds of Prey with Houston Audubon

All are welcome at this program designed specially for school-aged children. Join the Houston Audubon education team to meet some of the birds that reside at their Raptor and Education Center and help teach about bird conservation.
