Pickle Point Expands to Cypress with New State-of-the-Art Pickleball Facility

February 07 2025

Pickleball enthusiasts in Cypress will soon have a new, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the rapidly growing sport. Pickle Point, known for its high-quality courts and wellness-focused amenities, has officially filed permits to open its newest location at 15623 Mueschke Road, near Houston Premium Outlets in Cypress. With construction set to begin on February 14, 2025, and an expected completion date of May 30, 2025, the new $250,000 facility will be the latest addition to Pickle Point’s expanding network, which currently includes a location in Katy and a planned opening in Sugar Land.

The Rise of Pickleball in Cypress and Beyond

Pickleball has surged in popularity across the United States, with millions of players embracing the sport for its accessibility, social nature, and health benefits. A hybrid of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, pickleball is played on a smaller court with a paddle and a perforated plastic ball. The game can be enjoyed in singles or doubles formats and is known for its fast-paced yet easy-to-learn nature, making it appealing to players of all ages and skill levels.

Originally invented in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, Washington, pickleball remained a niche sport for decades before experiencing a rapid boom in the 2010s. The game’s growth has been driven by its inclusivity, low barrier to entry, and the rising interest in active social sports. According to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the U.S., with participation increasing by over 150% in the past three years.

The Cypress area has fully embraced the trend, with multiple venues now offering pickleball courts to meet demand. Local players have flocked to places like the Langham Creek Family YMCA, Sun Auto Sports Complex and Villa Sport Cypress, making it clear that the community is eager for more dedicated spaces to enjoy the sport. Pickle Point aims to meet that demand by providing a premier facility designed specifically for both casual and competitive play.

Premium Courts and High-Tech Features

The 32,430-square-foot facility will feature eight indoor and four outdoor courts, all designed with premium cushioned surfaces for optimal play. The courts will also be equipped with smart AI-enabled technology, advanced sound and lighting systems, and fencing to ensure uninterrupted gameplay. Players can look forward to more than 200 hours of organized play each month, including leagues, tournaments, drills, and lessons for all skill levels.

More Than Just Pickleball

Pickle Point aims to provide a well-rounded experience that extends beyond the court. The Cypress facility will offer a variety of wellness amenities, including hydro massagers, a red-light sauna, and a cold plunge for post-game recovery. A dedicated wellness bar will also be available for members and guests looking to rehydrate and refuel.

The social aspect of the club is another key feature. The venue will include a spacious indoor social area, as well as family- and pet-friendly outdoor gazebos. Regular happy hours, mixers, food trucks, live music, and special events will make Pickle Point a hub for both competitive and recreational players looking to connect with others in the community.

Membership and Access

Pickle Point offers flexible membership options, ranging from $99 per month to $984 per year, with quarterly payment plans also available. Non-members will also have the option to access the courts on a pay-as-you-go basis, ensuring that the facility remains open to all pickleball enthusiasts in Cypress.
