Piada Italian Street Food Now Open in Cypress: Experience Authentic Italian Cuisine with Fast Casual Twist

December 11 2024

Piada Italian Street Food has officially opened its newest location in Cypress on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 20711 Tuckerton Road. This marks the brand’s 57th restaurant and the 6th Piada location in the Houston area. The Cypress restaurant is situated just east of the Grand Parkway toll road, across from H.E.B., Lifetime Fitness, and Highpark Apartments, and is near several local spots including Dragonfly Park Swimming Pool and Sue McGown Elementary School.

Piada Cypress offers a menu centered around Italian street food, serving up a variety of piadas (Italian flatbread), pasta bowls, and fresh salads with an open kitchen concept that allows customers to watch their meals being prepared in real time.

Piada’s menu emphasizes fresh, high-quality ingredients, prepared quickly and served fast. The concept was inspired by the street food culture Piada’s founder, Chris Doody, encountered during a trip to Rimini, Italy, where he was introduced to family recipes and simple, flavorful meals. The first Piada restaurant opened in 2010 with a focus on offering a fast-casual dining experience rooted in quality and tradition.

Signature items include Veggie Piada, which features hummus, feta, and arugula, and the Avocado Piada, which combines crispy pancetta, mozzarella, and avocado. The pasta offerings include dishes like Carbonara Pasta, Basil Pesto Pasta, and Diavolo Pasta, alongside the more indulgent Penne Parm Piada and Carbonara Piada served with a choice of grilled, crispy, or hot fried chicken. For sides, customers can enjoy Garlic Dough, Sweet Corn Salad, and Calamari Fritto Misto, while Cannoli Chips and Salted Caramel Cookies provide a sweet ending to the meal.

“We’re so proud of our Partner, Chef Alex, our Cypress crew, and all of the trainers who traveled from across the country to share our values and recipes with the newest members of Team Piada. We’re excited to continue expanding in Texas and investing in the communities we serve in 2025. Cypress, thank you for the very warm welcome,” a Piada representative said.

Piada Cypress joins the growing network of Piada locations in the Houston area, offering a casual dining experience for those seeking authentic Italian street food made fresh daily. The restaurant is located in a high-traffic area with proximity to local businesses and schools, and it aims to cater to both dine-in guests and those on the go.
