Piada Italian Street Food Set to Expand Presence in Katy with Second Location

July 31 2024

Piada Italian Street Food, a rising fast-casual restaurant brand, is set to open another Katy-area store at 2710 W Grand Parkway, Suite 150, Katy, TX 77449. This will be the brand's second location in Katy, situated conveniently in the same shopping center as the Xfinity Store by Comcast and Pincho Burgers and Kebobs. The expansion deepens Piada's presence in the Greater Houston Area, where it already operates five locations.

The story of Piada Italian Street Food began in Rimini, Italy, where CEO and Founder Chris Doody experienced the magic of Italian roadside food trucks and corner markets. He was so entranced by the simple, yet aromatic ingredients and family-kept recipes that he vowed to bring that essence to the United States.

Opening its doors for the first time in Columbus, Ohio, in 2010, Piada has grown across multiple states. Today, around 50 Piada locations are spread across the country with corporate ownership, not a franchise model. One distinguishing factor that sets Piada apart from its competitors is its dedication to having a chef run each of its locations for a high-quality dining experience.

At Piada, customers can watch their meals come to life thanks to the brand's open kitchen design. The main offerings include Piadas – wraps made with thin Italian flatbread, baked on a stone grill and hand-rolled with fresh ingredients, as well as pasta bowls and chopped salads. Each order is hand-crafted by the chef, ready to be enjoyed in the dining room or on the go.

According to information from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), construction for the new Piada location is scheduled to begin in October 2024 and is expected to be completed by late January 2025.
