Memorial Day Trash and Recycling Schedule Update for Williamsburg Colony Residents
As many Williamsburg Colony families prepare for Memorial Day gatherings, travel, and time spent honoring those who served the country, residents should also be aware of a temporary change to trash and recycling services next week.
WHC MUD 2 has announced that there will be no trash or recycling collection on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.
Regular trash service will resume on the next scheduled collection day for residents, while recycling pickup will continue on the normal recycling schedule for the community.
For many neighborhoods across the Katy area, holiday collection schedule changes can lead to overflowing bins or missed pickups if residents are not aware ahead of time. Williamsburg Colony residents may want to plan accordingly by placing bins out on the appropriate rescheduled day and avoiding leaving carts curbside unnecessarily during the holiday.
Memorial Day, observed annually on the last Monday in May, honors the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. Across communities throughout Texas and the nation, the holiday is marked by ceremonies, American flags displayed at homes and businesses, and gatherings with family and neighbors.
As residents enjoy the long weekend, local officials encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the significance of the holiday while also helping keep the community clean and orderly during the adjusted service schedule.
Residents with questions about trash or recycling collection schedules are encouraged to monitor communications from WHC MUD 2 and their service provider for any additional updates.
