Major Mobility Upgrades Underway in Fort Bend County Precinct 1: What Woodcreek Reserve Residents Should Know

Fort Bend County Precinct 1 has released its latest mobility project updates, revealing a wave of roadwork, safety enhancements, and infrastructure upgrades already underway or in planning across Fort Bend County Precinct 1. Here's a quick breakdown of what local residents in Woodcreek Reserve need to know from the June 2025 public documents.

Roads Under Construction

 
1. McCrary Road (FM 359 to East-West Section)
  • Expanding from 2-lane asphalt to 4-lane concrete boulevard
  • Temporary signal at FM 359 now active
  • Completion expected: September 2025
  • Drainage upgrades and Westcreek HOA coordination underway
2. Huggins Drive (FM 359 to Katy Fulshear Rd)
  • $6.6M rebuild as a 3-lane concrete road
  • Turn lanes to be added at FM 359
  • Utility relocations complete (AT&T, Comcast, CenterPoint Gas)
  • Completion expected: April 2026
3. Brandt Road (McCrary to Mason Rd)
  • Phase 2 in final construction
  • Roundabout lighting approved
 

Traffic Signals & Safety

 
New Signals
  • Cinco Ranch Blvd at Falcon Landing Blvd – Approved
  • Cinco Ranch Blvd at Cinco Terrace Dr – On hold due to resident feedback
In Design
  • Candela Heights at FM 359 – TxDOT permit submitted June 2025
  • FM 723 at Settegast Ranch Rd – Signal warranted; coordination with TxDOT underway
 

Sidewalk Projects

 
Precinct-Wide Sidewalk Program
  • 5-foot-wide sidewalks being added throughout Precinct 1
  • Katy Flewellen & Falcon Landing Blvd phase nearly complete
  • Ginter Library site utilities and access road phases progressing

Grand Parkway 99 Frontage Roads

TxDOT and Fort Bend County are moving ahead with major SH 99 frontage road improvements:

Key segments include:
  • Southbound: Westheimer to Cinco Ranch
  • Northbound: Fry Rd to Westheimer
  • Construction letting scheduled for March to September 2026
  • Property acquisition in progress – multiple parcels heading to legal review in July
Highlights:
  • Utility coordination and ROW comments from TxDOT under review
  • Fall 2025: Noise workshops and public meetings planned

Skinner Lane (Seg. 1–4)
  • Drainage studies in progress
  • Alignment adjustments may be needed due to potential wetlands
Pool Hill Road (Seg. 1–3)
  • Coordination meetings held in June
  • ROW acquisition underway from east and west sides
Hunt Road (Seg. 1–3)
  • Final alignments may affect developer plans
  • TxDOT bridge replacement coordination in progress
Wallis Street (FM 1093 to FM 359)
  • 35 parcels in acquisition
  • City of Fulshear requesting traffic and pedestrian design changes
Fulshear Gaston Rd (Phases 1 & 2)
  • Parcel and utility coordination nearly complete
  • CP station sidewalk wrapping approved by MUD engineer
Settegast Ranch Rd (Seg. 1–2)
  • Expanding to full boulevard with storm sewer and traffic signal at FM 723
  • Detention and pipeline drainage coordination ongoing
