Mah-Jongg Nights in Lakes on Eldridge: Classic Tile Game Brings Neighbors Together
Residents of Lakes on Eldridge are invited to connect over a time-honored game that’s equal parts strategy, memory, and fun. The Mah-Jongg Club meets every second and third Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at the community clubhouse, and everyone — from beginners to experienced players — is welcome to join.
Whether you're looking to learn something new or just enjoy some friendly competition, this is a great way to meet neighbors and have fun close to home.
How Mah-Jongg Is Played
Mah-Jongg is a four-player game played with 144 tiles marked with Chinese characters and symbols. Players draw and discard tiles to form specific sets — similar in concept to the card game rummy. The American version features a scoring card that changes each year, plus the use of jokers to keep things fresh and challenging.
