Lucid Private Offices Opens First Austin Location Near The Domain, Bringing 83 Private Offices to North Austin
For Austin business owners who have outgrown the home office but aren't ready to commit to a traditional commercial lease, a new workspace option is arriving in North Austin. Lucid Private Offices is opening its first Austin location on November 1, 2026, bringing 83 private offices, 12 team suites and shared business amenities to Stonebridge Plaza, between the Arboretum and The Domain.
The 22,329-square-foot location at 9600 N. MoPac Expressway offers another choice for entrepreneurs, consultants, growing businesses and hybrid teams looking for private office space in Austin without the long-term commitments often associated with conventional office leases.
The opening also marks the beginning of a larger expansion into Central Texas. Lucid plans to establish three locations across the Austin area by the end of 2027, including a second office in Westlake scheduled to open next spring.
Inside Lucid Private Offices' New Arboretum/Domain Location
Occupying the entire ninth floor of Stonebridge Plaza, a Class A, LEED-certified office complex, the new Lucid Private Offices location sits near the intersection of MoPac Expressway (Loop 1) and Highway 183.
The location places businesses between two of North Austin's established shopping, dining and employment districts, with more than 200 shops and 50 restaurants located within minutes of the property.
Inside, the workspace is designed around private offices rather than the open desks commonly associated with coworking spaces. The company says its approach gives individuals and teams a dedicated place to conduct business while retaining access to shared amenities and professional services.
The Austin location includes 83 private offices, 12 team suites, four conference rooms and a dedicated Library Focus room for work requiring fewer distractions. Windows offer views of the Texas Hill Country and The Domain.
Businesses can customize their workspaces, select furnishing options and operate under flexible terms. The offices are also designed to be white-labeled, allowing companies to maintain their own professional identity rather than prominently displaying the workspace provider's branding.
Amenities include professional reception services, enterprise-grade Wi-Fi, 24/7 access to locked private offices, meeting rooms and opportunities to participate in networking and community events. Members also have access to Stonebridge Plaza's fitness center and new amenities lounge.
For a small business meeting with clients, a professional working remotely several days a week or a company assembling a team in Austin, the arrangement offers an alternative to working from home, renting a conventional office or relying on shared coworking tables.
Why Flexible Office Space Is Growing in Austin
Lucid's arrival comes as Austin's workplace habits continue to change.
According to data from CoworkingCafe and Yardi, Austin has approximately 2 million square feet of coworking space across 108 locations. Commercial real estate services firm JLL has also identified Austin among Sun Belt markets experiencing accelerated growth in flexible office space.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Central Texas Commuter Survey found that 45% of surveyed residents across the region work from home at least some of the time.
That doesn't necessarily mean everyone working remotely wants a separate office. It does, however, illustrate how varied working arrangements have become across Central Texas.
Some professionals need a quiet place for client calls or confidential meetings. Others may have employees working from different locations and need a shared office only part of the time. For businesses that are expanding, flexible office arrangements can also provide room to grow without immediately taking on a traditional lease.
Lucid is positioning its North Austin location around those needs.
"While there's no shortage of coworking spaces in Austin, we saw an opportunity to bring something fresh to the Austin office market that delivers exactly what local professionals need and want in office space," said Flip Howard, founder and CEO of Lucid Private Offices. "Professionals shouldn't have to choose between the privacy of a traditional office and the flexibility and amenities of coworking. We bring the best of both together in a sophisticated, thoughtfully designed environment that inspires productivity and gives businesses a place they're proud to call their own."
What Makes Lucid Private Offices Different From Traditional Coworking?
While many coworking spaces emphasize communal tables, shared seating and open work areas, Lucid focuses primarily on enclosed private offices and team suites.
That distinction may matter to businesses handling sensitive information, professionals who regularly meet with clients or teams that need to collaborate without the interruptions of a shared workspace.
Lucid's model combines dedicated offices with services typically associated with larger commercial buildings, including staffed reception areas, maintained kitchens, common spaces, utilities and meeting facilities.
The company also offers workspace arrangements for solo professionals and businesses with teams of up to 50 people across its portfolio. Other available solutions include virtual office business addresses, meeting room rentals and day passes, although prospective Austin customers should confirm which options are offered at the new location.
Office pricing and specific lease terms were not included in the company's October 30 announcement.
Second Austin-Area Lucid Private Offices Location Planned for Westlake in April 2027
North Austin is only the first step in Lucid's plans for the region.
The company has announced a second location in Westlake, scheduled to open in April 2027 at 805 Las Cimas Parkway, in Suite 200 of the Class A Las Cimas III building along Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360).
The planned Westlake office will occupy approximately 23,029 square feet and include roughly 90 private offices, more than a dozen team suites and five conference and meeting rooms.
Its location is intended to serve established businesses in western Austin, as well as professionals commuting from communities throughout the Texas Hill Country.
For Westlake-area business owners and commuters, the new location could provide an additional option for maintaining a professional office closer to home rather than traveling into other Austin business districts.
Lucid expects to have three Austin-area locations by the end of 2027. The company has not provided a location or opening date for the third property in its announcement.
A 25-Year Company Expands Its Texas Presence
Although Lucid Private Offices is new to Austin, the company has operated in the flexible workspace industry for 25 years.
Lucid reports a portfolio of 30 locations across Austin, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Atlanta and Nashville, reflecting its expansion throughout Texas and other Sun Belt markets in Georgia, Arizona and Tennessee.
Its offices are designed to accommodate businesses at different stages, from independent professionals establishing a dedicated workplace to larger teams seeking furnished offices with access to professional support services.
The company emphasizes private, customizable workspaces and flexible arrangements, with the goal of allowing businesses to begin operating without having to furnish, maintain and manage an entire traditional office.
Austin's addition to that portfolio reflects the company's interest in a market where technology businesses, professional services firms, entrepreneurs and established employers operate alongside a substantial remote and hybrid workforce.
What the New North Austin Office Means for Local Businesses
For businesses in the Arboretum, The Domain and surrounding North Austin neighborhoods, the opening adds another option to the area's commercial office market.
The location's proximity to major highways, restaurants and retail destinations could be useful for companies hosting clients, coordinating in-person team meetings or providing employees with an office outside downtown Austin.
It also reflects a broader change in how businesses approach office space. Instead of assuming every employee needs a permanent desk in a large corporate office, some companies are choosing smaller, more adaptable workplaces that accommodate different schedules and staffing needs.
Whether that model is the right fit will depend on a business's budget, privacy requirements, space needs and preferred lease terms.
For Austin professionals considering coworking memberships, private office rentals or flexible office suites near The Domain, the new Lucid location provides one more option to compare.
