Lone Star College-CyFair Announces Spring Season Packed with Student, Faculty, and Guest Performances
This spring, Lone Star College-CyFair (LSC-CyFair) will offer an extraordinary lineup of performances that showcase the incredible talents of its students, faculty, and guest artists. The Center for the Arts at LSC-CyFair will be the venue for these exciting performances, providing a dynamic cultural experience for the local community.
“You don’t want to miss the immense artistry of our students, faculty, and visiting performers, showcased in a myriad of amazing shows sure to impress,” said Joshua Estrada, Fine Arts Coordinator at LSC-CyFair. “These performances are the perfect opportunity to witness the hard work and dedication of the individuals in our arts programs.”
The spring season at LSC-CyFair features a variety of productions across different genres, including theater, music, and visual arts. Kicking off the season, the Main Stage Theatre will present the production of Moon Over Buffalo, a madcap comedy about a washed-up Broadway couple. The show runs from February 27 to March 8 and follows the chaotic events leading to their last chance at stardom, when everything that could possibly go wrong does.

For theater enthusiasts, LSC-CyFair’s Black Box Theatre will also host the “New Play Festival” from February 13-15. This exciting event will feature new works from emerging student playwrights, offering a unique glimpse into the next generation of dramatic talent. Additionally, the Black Box Theatre will stage [title of show] from April 3-12, a musical about two struggling playwrights who must write a new show in just three weeks for a festival.
The Music Department will also showcase a variety of concerts throughout the spring. Main Stage Theatre will host choral and instrumental performances from March through May, featuring both individual and group performances by the college's talented music students. In addition to the evening concerts, the Fine Arts Showcase will highlight a range of student works in visual and performing arts, including drama, music, art, and creative writing.
LSC-CyFair encourages community members to get involved beyond just attending these performances. Through the college’s Society for the Arts, individuals can help support student artists by funding program activities, sponsoring performances, and providing scholarships. Last spring, longtime donors and Society for the Arts supporters Cheryl LeJune and Mark Darby sponsored the production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. As engineers by profession, LeJune and Darby were inspired by the hard work and creativity of the students involved in the production.

“Both of us are engineers by profession, and not really artistic, so we really appreciate seeing the products of all the hard work as the students act, sing, play instruments, paint and sculpt,” said LeJune. “Watching the joy on the students' faces as they come off stage after a music or theatrical performance is contagious.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available for those who wish to support future productions. Show sponsors can enjoy benefits such as private meetings with the cast, backstage tours, reserved seating, and more.
