La La Land Kind Cafe Plans Second Cypress Location at Dunham Pointe, Bringing Popular Coffee and Matcha Brand to Mason Road
Coffee lovers in Cypress may soon have another reason to look forward to their morning routine. La La Land Kind Cafe, the Dallas-born coffee shop known for its bright yellow cups, specialty matcha drinks and emphasis on kindness, is planning a second Cypress location in the growing Dunham Pointe development along Mason Road.
The new cafe is planned for 14615 Mason Road, Suite B2-E, Cypress, TX 77433, according to a construction filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). The project represents another addition to the dining and retail options taking shape in Dunham Pointe as residential growth continues along the Highway 290 corridor.
For residents of Dunham Pointe and nearby Cypress neighborhoods, the planned opening would bring another convenient destination for coffee, breakfast and casual meetups closer to home. It also marks a quick return to Cypress expansion for a brand that opened its first local cafe at The Boardwalk at Towne Lake just a few months ago.
New La La Land Cafe at Dunham Pointe: What the Construction Plans Reveal
According to state construction records, the new La La Land Cafe will occupy an existing 2,112-square-foot commercial space within Dunham Pointe.
The privately funded project carries an estimated construction cost of $220,000 and includes renovations to accommodate a new kitchen, restrooms and customer dining areas. Plans also call for updated interior finishes and new LED lighting throughout the space.
Construction is listed as beginning September 7, 2026, with an anticipated completion date of December 20, 2026.
While that timeline suggests the cafe could be preparing for a late 2026 or early 2027 debut, the projected construction completion date is not an official opening announcement. La La Land has not yet confirmed a grand opening date, operating hours or whether the Dunham Pointe location will offer drive-thru service.
The new cafe will join the commercial development emerging around Dunham Pointe, where additional restaurants, retailers and neighborhood services are helping create everyday conveniences for families living in and around the master-planned community.
La La Land's Cypress Expansion Follows Towne Lake Opening
The Dunham Pointe location would become La La Land Kind Cafe's second location in Cypress, following the June 19, 2026, opening of its cafe at 9935 Barker Cypress Road, Suite 130, at The Boardwalk at Towne Lake.
That opening introduced the brand's first Houston-area drive-thru location, drawing considerable attention from customers eager to try its signature drinks and breakfast offerings. Opening-day crowds included lines outside the cafe and vehicles waiting for the drive-thru.
The planned Dunham Pointe cafe would give customers another option on the Mason Road side of Cypress, particularly those living near the growing residential communities surrounding Highway 290.
La La Land has also established a presence across Houston, with locations in Montrose, the MKT development on North Shepherd Drive, Upper Kirby and a cafe inside the lululemon store in Highland Village.
Beyond Cypress and Houston, the brand has expanded throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and into markets including Austin, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Nashville. By May 2026, the company had grown to more than 30 locations nationwide, according to D CEO magazine.
More Than Coffee: The Story Behind La La Land Kind Cafe
Although La La Land's recognizable yellow branding and photogenic drinks have helped it attract a following, the company's origins are rooted in a mission that extends beyond serving coffee.
Founder Francois Reihani opened the first La La Land Kind Cafe in Dallas in 2019 with the goal of creating employment opportunities for young people transitioning out of the foster care system.
The original location opened in a renovated historic house along Bell Avenue in Dallas' Lower Greenville neighborhood. Reihani envisioned a business where young adults aging out of foster care could gain job experience, mentorship and skills to help them build independent futures.
That mission became a defining part of the company's identity as it expanded.
Through its employment and mentorship initiatives, La La Land has worked to provide foster youth with paid training, professional development and support related to education, housing and career opportunities.
The company also promotes everyday acts of kindness, encouraging employees and customers to make positive connections through small interactions.
What began as one Dallas coffee shop has since developed into a multistate business, with its social mission remaining an important part of the brand's story.
For Cypress residents discovering La La Land for the first time, that background offers a little more context behind the cheerful yellow storefronts and coffee cups.
What's on the Menu at La La Land Kind Cafe?
La La Land Kind Cafe is especially known for its creative espresso and matcha beverages, many featuring the company's signature cloud-style toppings.
Its menu offers both familiar coffeehouse staples and specialty drinks that have helped distinguish the brand from traditional coffee chains.
Popular offerings include the La La Latte, which combines espresso or matcha with vanilla, milk and the cafe's signature cloud topping, and the Banana Cloud Latte, featuring banana, vanilla and cinnamon flavors.
Other menu selections include matcha creations, flavored lattes, cold brew, chai drinks, teas and seasonal specialties. The company has also featured drinks such as Strawberry Fields Matcha and pumpkin-inspired beverages.
For customers looking for something to eat, La La Land locations offer a selection of toast creations, breakfast items, pastries and grab-and-go options.
The cafe's menu is designed to accommodate everything from a quick morning coffee run to a more leisurely visit with friends.
Individual offerings may vary by location, and the specific menu for Dunham Pointe has not yet been announced. Customers can explore the company's current selections through the official La La Land website.
What the New Coffee Shop Means for Dunham Pointe and Cypress Residents
La La Land Kind Cafe's planned arrival comes at an especially exciting time for Dunham Pointe, where several major retail and restaurant announcements are beginning to bring the community's long-term commercial vision into focus.
Just weeks ago, My Neighborhood News reported that developer Trademark Property Company announced Cypress' first Whole Foods Market, which will anchor a new 202,000-square-foot shopping and dining destination at Highway 290 and Mason Road. The 25-acre development, being built in partnership with MetLife Investment Management, was scheduled to break ground October 1, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the 1,300-acre master-planned community.
Whole Foods is far from the only recognizable name heading to Dunham Pointe. The growing lineup includes Nordstrom Rack, Shake Shack, Amorino Gelato, Milkshake Factory, Pokeworks, Playa Bowls, Pepper Lunch, Ojo de Agua, solidcore, LaserAway and Fidelity, among other businesses. Nordstrom Rack has announced plans to open in fall 2027, while additional retailers and restaurants remain in various stages of planning and lease negotiations.
The retail district is being designed as more than a traditional shopping center, with restaurants, gathering spaces and pedestrian-friendly areas intended to create a destination where neighbors can spend time together. That vision is particularly meaningful for Dunham Pointe homeowners, who have watched residential construction advance while waiting for more of the community's promised shopping and dining amenities to materialize.
According to recent reporting, approximately 850 homes are already occupied within Dunham Pointe, which is planned to accommodate roughly 2,500 homes at full buildout. The expanding commercial development is intended to serve those residents while also attracting customers from nearby Cypress neighborhoods and the broader Highway 290 corridor.
La La Land's new Mason Road cafe adds another familiar name to that growing mix, offering a more casual option for morning coffee runs, breakfast stops and afternoon visits with friends. While its anticipated construction timeline places it potentially ahead of several larger retail openings, an official opening date has not been announced.
For families who have made Dunham Pointe their home, the bigger story is how quickly the area around them is changing. What was once largely a landscape of new homes and construction activity is steadily becoming a more complete neighborhood, with grocery shopping, restaurants, retail, fitness options and everyday services taking shape closer to home. La La Land is one more piece of that transformation, giving residents another reason to look forward to what's coming next.
When Will La La Land Kind Cafe Open at Dunham Pointe?
The construction filing currently lists December 20, 2026, as the anticipated completion date for the new cafe at 14615 Mason Road.
However, residents should keep in mind that construction schedules can change, and completing a commercial build-out does not necessarily mean a business is ready to open immediately.
An official grand opening date, store hours and additional details about the Dunham Pointe location have not yet been released.
In the meantime, Cypress residents can visit the existing La La Land Kind Cafe at The Boardwalk at Towne Lake to get a preview of the coffee, matcha and breakfast offerings expected to make the new Mason Road location another addition to the area's dining scene.
As Dunham Pointe continues to grow, each new business adds another piece to the neighborhood's developing identity. For La La Land, the next chapter in Cypress could mean more than another place to grab coffee. It also brings the company's focus on kindness and connection to another community of neighbors.
