Katz’s Never Kloses Opens in Memorial City with 24/7 Comfort Food, Cocktails, and a Big Heart
West Houston and Katy residents have a new go-to spot for midnight milkshakes, sunrise breakfast tacos, and late-night cocktails—all under one neon-lit roof. Katz’s Never Kloses has officially opened its doors in Memorial City, and yes, it really never closes.
Located at 10321 Katy Freeway, the iconic 24-hour eatery launched its fifth Houston-area location on Tuesday, September 2 with a unique twist: a community-focused charity preview. Two days before the official opening, Katz’s Memorial City hosted a public “practice run” on Sunday, August 31, donating 100% of the day’s revenue to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which supports families recovering from the devastating July 4 floods in the Hill Country.
The restaurant’s symbolic “key-cutting” ceremony on opening day replaced the traditional ribbon cutting—because Katz’s, in true form, doesn’t believe in locks or closing hours.
“It’s a dream come true to bring our upscaled 24-hour dining experience to a fifth Houston-area location,” said Barry Katz, the namesake owner. “We strive to be the industry leader in food quality, service and ambiance, and are excited to Never Klose our doors again!”

The new Memorial City location is everything Katz’s fans have come to expect—and more. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a cross between a modern diner and a New York-style café, buzzing with energy, no matter the hour. Katz’s story began on Austin’s 6th Street back in 1979, where it quickly earned a cult following for serving up comfort food after hours. In 2000, Barry and Lisa Katz brought that late-night magic to Houston, opening the Montrose location that helped define the brand’s signature motto: “Katz’s Never Kloses.”
Since then, Katz’s has opened locations in The Woodlands, The Heights, and The Galleria. Now, Memorial City joins the family—bringing 24/7 comfort food and cocktails to a part of town that’s long craved an all-hours gathering spot.
