Katy City Park Gets New Fitness Court
City of Katy Parks and Recreation has added a new amenity to Katy City Park for fitness enrichment.
A new fitness court has been installed at Katy City Park that features a series of full-body exercises that can be completed in just seven minutes. This outdoor bodyweight circuit-training system is part of the National Fitness Campaign, an initiative that aims to provide free outdoor fitness equipment to 1,000 cities around the United States by 2024. National Fitness Campaign develops partnerships with cities, schools and sponsors to build healthy communities.

The City of Katy was honored as one of 20 recipients for sponsorship funding thanks to a partnership between the National Fitness Campaign and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. This funding allowed City of Katy Parks and Recreation to bring this new, high-quality amenity into the City of Katy park system that will provide free access to outdoor fitness equipment, community classes, and fitness-based programming for years to come.
