Katy Christian Ministries Kicks Off 30th Annual Red Apple School Supplies Event, Seeks Community Support

July 18 2024

Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Red Apple School Supplies event and the 4th anniversary of the Happy Feet Program. The initiative, which has supported thousands of learners over the years, is requesting the community's assistance to make these annual traditions a resounding success.

Throughout its history, the Red Apple Program has been a pillar of support for the local community, with as many as 1,392 students benefiting from the initiative last year alone. The dual-edged program that also incorporates the Happy Feet Program, aims at providing every single registered child with a brand new pair of shoes, ensuring they kick off the new academic year on the right foot.

In order to allow KCM to continue impacting lives positively through these programs, the community's generous financial contribution is needed. The initiative, which spans 13 zip codes across three counties, has set a total fundraising goal of $70,000.

Donations can be made online or via checks payable to Katy Christian Ministries with “Red Apples” referenced in the memo line. These can be mailed to P.O. Box 986, Katy, TX 77492. Additionally, cash donations and other contributions can be dropped off at the KCM Administration office located at 3506 Porter Road, Katy, TX 77493. KCM is asking that all monetary donations be submitted by August 30, 2024.

Beyond financial contributions, the community can also contribute through hosting a school supply drive. Necessary supplies include backpacks, pencils, erasers, three-ring binders, wide-ruled filler paper, composition books, pocket folders, and various other stationery and classroom supplies.

Volunteers are also greatly appreciated to help organize and distribute supplies. Anyone interested can register as a volunteer through the KCM website at ktcm.org/volunteers/special-events.

With the support of the community, KCM is dedicated to transforming lives through God’s grace and generosity, as they aim to dispatch students back to school with the requisite tools to excel. As the 30th annual Red Apple School Supplies event draws closer, the community is encouraged to come together and ensure that this year's initiative is a success.
