Katy Area Fire Departments Host CPR Classes for Heart Awareness Month

February is American Heart Month, and your local fire departments want to help ensure that families across the region are armed with life-saving training when your loved ones need it most.

Did You Know? CPR Fast Facts
  • Immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest.
  • In one year alone, 436,000 Americans die from a cardiac arrest.
  • More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital each year.
  • If performed immediately, CPR can double or triple the chance of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest.
To help bring CPR awareness and training to the Katy community, your local fire departments offers CPR classes every month. Learn more about their course offerings below and make plans to attend a class this month.
 

Harris County ESD No. 48 Fire Department

Heartsaver® CPR AED Course 

Heartsaver CPR AED is available in two different training methods – blended learning and classroom training. All Heartsaver CPR AED course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA Course Completion Card.

Heartsaver CPR AED is geared for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.

Willowfork Fire Department

Students that lives in our district will receive the class for free. Students that live out of district will be charged $50. To submit a request for CPR class registration, please visit willowforkfire.com/cpr-class-sign-up
