Katherine Tyra Branch Library Now Accepting Little Buddies Applications

The Katherine Tyra Branch Library in Bear Creek is now accepting Little Buddies applications for children in grades K-3!
Made possible by the generous support of the Harris County Friends of the Library, Book Buddies is a free program that brings children and adult or teen volunteers together to share the joy of reading. The program pairs trained volunteers called Big Buddies with children in Kindergarten through third grade, known as Little Buddies. For 10 weeks, the Buddies meet once a week in the afternoon for 45 minutes of one-on-one shared reading.
The fall 2023 Book Buddies session will be in person and will run from September to November 2023. Little Buddies can apply now at the service desk at Katherine Tyra Branch Library, and adults and teens interested in being Big Buddies can fill out an interest form at hcpl.net/book-buddies.
