Judson ISD Seniors Recognized in Record-Breaking Valero Alamo Bowl Scholarship Program

December 26 2025

Four Judson Independent School District seniors are being recognized through one of San Antonio’s most established and impactful scholarship programs, as part of a record-breaking year for the Valero Alamo Bowl.

Students from Judson High School, Judson Early College Academy, and Karen Wagner High School were selected as recipients of the 2025 Valero Alamo Bowl Student-Athlete Scholarship, each receiving $7,500 toward their future education. In total, the Valero Alamo Bowl awarded $765,000 to 102 graduating seniors this year, representing 80 area high schools and marking the largest high school scholarship total in the Bowl’s history.

Recipients from Judson ISD include Alexis McKnight of Judson High School, a four-year varsity volleyball athlete and team captain who plans to pursue forensic science studies in college, and Aviel Rosin of Judson Early College Academy, a four-year robotics lead programmer and varsity cross country athlete who is also a three-year National Honor Society member.

Karen Wagner High School seniors Jaylon Jones and Vernon McClure II were also selected. Jones is a four-year varsity tennis athlete and powerlifter, a National Honor Society member, and a long-time participant in the school’s T-STEM Academy. McClure is a National Honor Society member and four-year football and tennis athlete who plans to major in engineering.

The Valero Alamo Bowl Student-Athlete Scholarship Program evaluates applicants based on academic performance, teacher and coach recommendations, varsity athletic participation, extracurricular involvement, honors received, and a personal narrative. Each applicant must have earned at least one varsity athletic letter in a school-sponsored sport.

Scholarship recipients were honored at the H-E-B Scholarship Awards Luncheon on December 17 and will be recognized on the field during the first quarter of the Valero Alamo Bowl on December 30, continuing a tradition that publicly celebrates student achievement.
