July 10 2024

As the new league year of 2024-2025 is on the horizon, the Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) opens the door for new members. This organization seeks women above the age of 21 with a vested interest in community service, fellowship, and philanthropy. Known for its hallmark Sugar Plum Market event, FBJSL has a track record of raising significant funds for nonprofits in Fort Bend County, with a whopping $4.3 million fundraised and distributed so far.

Michelle Vargas, Director of New Members, shares the unique experience this organization offers, "Supporting nonprofit organizations throughout Fort Bend County and serving with like-minded women since 2019 are just a few of the reasons I continue to come back to Fort Bend Junior Service League. Through FBJSL, I have built meaningful relationships and truly special friendships, but I have also been given countless opportunities to give back and make a positive impact on others' lives, which is truly fulfilling.”

The Fort Bend Junior Service League has a history of commitment to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the Fort Bend County community. Since 2001, FBJSL has strategically used the action and leadership of trained volunteers to make a difference. An educational and charitable body, FBJSL not only fosters goodwill and camaraderie among members but also effectively contributes to society through its fundraising initiatives. FBJSL has donated more than $5.75 million to nonprofit agencies in the Fort Bend community since it was formed.
