As 2024 draws to a close, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in Spring, Texas, is set to host a variety of exciting events and workshops, including an Indigenous Art Pop-Up Celebration, a Winter Art Camp, creative workshops, and a chance to do unique holiday shopping. Indigenous Art Pop-Up Celebration & Market on December 7
On Saturday, December 7, the Pearl Fincher Museum will hold its highly anticipated Indigenous Art Pop-Up Celebration & Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free, family-friendly event promises to showcase the vibrant richness of Indigenous art and culture. Highlights include a dance performance at noon by Indigenous ACE (Arts, Culture, Education), craft activities led by artist Locinda Landry, and a diverse range of Indigenous art vendors selling unique pieces. Attendees can learn about Native American traditions, purchase handmade arts and crafts, and enjoy cultural performances. Registration is encouraged and can be done online at pearlmfa.org.
Winter Break Art Camp for Kids: January 2 & 3
The Pearl Fincher Museum is also hosting a Winter Break Mini Art Camp for children aged 5 to 12. This two-day event, held on January 2 and 3, will feature fun, winter-themed art projects, including mixed media winter scenes, Arctic critter clay sculptures, and holiday ornaments. The camp will be divided into two age groups: ages 5 to 7 will meet in the morning, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while children aged 8 to 12 will participate in the afternoon session, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration is required, and more details are available on the museum's website.
Holiday Shopping at the Museum Store

December Art Workshops
The Pearl Fincher Museum is also offering a variety of art workshops in December. On Thursday, December 12, attendees can learn how to create a traditional dream catcher during a workshop led by Locinda Landry, founder of the Southern Apache Museum. The class runs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will teach participants to craft dream catchers using materials such as deerskin leather lace, sinew, feathers, and beads.
On Saturday, December 14, two workshops will take place: a Silk Scarf Watercolor Painting Workshop and a Christmas Candy Craft Workshop for kids. These workshops provide creative opportunities for participants to relax, make something beautiful, and get into the holiday spirit.
Last Chance to See "Roots & Reverence" Exhibition
The Pearl Fincher Museum’s Fall Exhibition, Roots & Reverence: Exploring Indigenous Perspectives on Art, Culture, and Identity, is on display through January 4, 2025. This immersive exhibition showcases the artistic traditions of Native American cultures, featuring exceptional works in basketry, pottery, and beadwork that represent living traditions passed down through generations. Pearl Book Club: December 14
For book lovers, the Pearl’s Book Club will meet on Saturday, December 14, at 11:00 a.m. to discuss Perma Red, a novel by Debra Magpie Earling. The book club’s monthly gatherings are inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions and provide an opportunity to engage in thoughtful discussions about works that highlight Indigenous perspectives. Registration for the Book Club is required and can be done through the museum’s website.

The Pearl Fincher Museum is also proud to announce staff promotions for Samantha Aguilar and Rebecca Burns. Aguilar has been promoted to Director of Exhibitions and Programs, while Burns will take on the role of Director of Education.
