Houston SPCA Pet of the Week: Freya
A Message from Freya
Did you know "FREYA" means "noble lady"?! My quirky ears match my fun & unique personality. After being rescued by a Houston SPCA Investigator, I've got a pretty sweet life here. I may be a husky mix, but once I'm out in a yard I mellow out quickly. Toys are still new to me since I didn't get to play with any before, but I walk great on a leash. Kids of all ages love me, which is why I am a favorite with the campers this summer. I have been promoted to "CAMPER FAVORITE" so campers of all ages love me. If you want to come home with a bright smile and a wagging tail, I'm your girl.
More About Freya
Freya is one of six large-sized dogs at the Houston SPCA who collectively have spent the last 344 days (and counting) eagerly waiting for the right owner to call their own. This group of fun-loving canines each have their own unique story but all have the potential to steal someone’s heart. Adopting a large dog does take some planning, and the Houston SPCA can help every step of the way including how to get your new pet settled in your home.
During the Houston SPCA's Big Dog Days of Summer Event, All large dogs are VIP (Very Important Pup) at the Houston SPCA and come with a $10 adoption package through August 31. The package includes a veterinary exam with up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, spay or neuter surgery; free post-adoption exam at any VCA Animal Hospital and a free sample bag of Hill’s Science Diet. Interested in seeing more? Visit our Adoptable Pets Page and look for the VIP logo.
