Holiday Fun for All Ages: Celebrate the Season with These Free Events at Fort Bend County Libraries

This winter, Fort Bend County Libraries (FBCL) are offering a wide range of free, family-friendly events to help you get into the holiday spirit. Whether you’re looking for a fun activity for kids, a relaxing afternoon for yourself, or a way to celebrate the new year, there’s something for everyone at your local library this December.

Holiday Events for the Whole Family

 

George Memorial Library (Richmond)

 
End-of-the-Year Dance Party
Date: Saturday, December 21 | Time: 2:30-3:45 pm
Dance into the new year with DJ Jeffrey! Enjoy fun songs, games, and contests. Tickets required.
 

New Year’s at Noon
Date: Tuesday, December 31 | Time: 11:30 am-12:30 pm
Celebrate the new year with a fun countdown and a bubble release! Tickets required.

 

Cinco Ranch Branch Library (Katy)

 

Marionette Puppet Show: Sleeping Beauty & the Handsome Prince
Date: Saturday, December 14 | Time: 3:00-4:00 pm
Enjoy a magical puppet performance by Jean Kucher. Tickets required.

New Year’s Countdown at Noon
Date: Tuesday, December 31 | Time: 11:30 am-12:00 pm
Kids of all ages are invited to craft, enjoy snacks, and celebrate with a New Year’s countdown at noon.

Wrap & Yap: A Wrapping Party

Get your gifts wrapped while enjoying festive music and creativity!

Winter Open House: Cookie Decorating, Balloon Art & Crafts
Date: Saturday, December 21 | Time: 10:30-11:30 am
A fun-filled event with crafts, cookie decorating, and balloon art. Free for all ages.

DIY Glitter Mason Jars
Date: Thursday, December 19 | Time: 4:00-5:00 pm
Teens will make glittery Mason jar crafts, perfect for room decor or holiday gifts. Registration required.

 

Missouri City Branch

 

Teen Tuesday: Escape the New Year’s Ball
Date: Tuesday, December 31 | Time: 3:00-4:00 pm
Teens will work together in a fun escape room experience to solve puzzles and “escape” in time for the new year. Registration required.
