Harris County Clerk's Office and The Heritage Society Make it Easier for Couples to Say "I Do"on Valentine's Day

January 28 2023

This Valentine’s Day, the Harris County Clerk’s Office (HCCO) is collaborating with the Heritage Society to provide marriage licenses on-site for couples wanting to celebrate their nuptials at the historic Sam Houston Park located on 1100 Bagby Street. HCCO will issue marriage licenses 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., the fee is $74. For marriage license requirements, click here.

“We are excited to take part in The Heritage Society’s Express Weddings one-stop shop promotion to help couples wanting to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day,” said Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth. “We encourage couples to take advantage of this opportunity on a special day that only comes around once a year.”

Couples applying for their marriage license at the Heritage Society should allow approximately 15-20 minutes for the application process before scheduling their wedding ceremonies. A judge will also be on-site to waive the 72-hour waiting period.

“Following the marriage license application process, couples can choose to participate in an affordable express wedding package. We are offering a 5-minute ceremony at an outdoor venue for only $60 or a 10-minute ceremony for a church ceremony with live music for only $150,” said The Heritage Society’s Executive Director, Alison Bell. “Couples will be delighted with their lovely express wedding experience, but they need to book the venue of their choice in advance.”
