Grundfos Expands Brookshire Manufacturing Campus with Nearly $39 Million Investment, Reinforcing Long-Term Commitment to Waller County
Brookshire's role as a growing center for advanced manufacturing continues to gain momentum as Grundfos moves forward with one of its largest local investments to date.
Just one week after company leaders, local officials and state representatives gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of a major expansion at the Grundfos Americas campus, the full scope of the project highlights the company's long-term commitment to Brookshire and Waller County. The nearly $39 million investment will add approximately 143,000 square feet of new production and office space, expanding manufacturing capacity while reinforcing Brookshire's position as a strategic hub for advanced water technology manufacturing in the United States.
For residents and local businesses, the expansion represents more than a new industrial facility. It signals continued confidence in the community, supports Brookshire's growing reputation as a destination for international investment, and reflects the area's increasing importance in the future of advanced manufacturing in Texas.
New Production Facility Planned Through 2027
According to project permit filings, construction officially began on June 24, 2026, with completion currently scheduled for June 4, 2027.
Once complete, the $38.75 million facility will manufacture advanced pump systems and water technologies serving primarily the water utility and commercial building markets. Manufacturing operations are expected to include assembly, fabrication, welding, testing and finishing processes, with an anticipated production capacity of approximately 75,000 units annually.
Building on Momentum in Brookshire
The latest investment follows last week's ceremonial groundbreaking at the Brookshire campus, where Grundfos executives were joined by Denmark's Ambassador to the United States, Brookshire Mayor Robert Richards, State Representative Stan Kitzman and other local and regional leaders.
The company also celebrated the opening of the Grundfos Academy Americas, a new training and collaboration center designed to help customers, distributors and partners gain hands-on experience with the company's products and technologies while developing expertise in modern water management solutions.
Founded in Denmark more than 80 years ago, Grundfos has grown into one of the world's leading manufacturers of advanced pump systems and water technologies. The company operates in more than 60 countries and focuses on developing energy-efficient solutions for water utilities, commercial buildings, industry and infrastructure. Today, the Brookshire campus serves as Grundfos' U.S. headquarters, making Waller County a key part of the company's North American operations.
A Long-Term Investment in Brookshire
Grundfos leaders say the expansion reflects both increasing customer demand and the company's long-term commitment to manufacturing in the United States.
"Our growing presence in Brookshire reflects both our confidence in the U.S. market and our long-term commitment to investing where our customers and partners need us most," said Poul Due Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of Grundfos. "The Greater Houston Area offers the skilled workforce, transportation access and proximity to global ports that allow us to manufacture advanced water technologies efficiently and move them across the U.S."
The United States has become Grundfos' largest market, accounting for roughly one-fifth of the company's global revenue. Company officials attribute that growth to increased investment in water infrastructure, energy-efficient buildings and industrial water systems across North America.
Grundfos reported 15% U.S. growth during 2025, helping drive the decision to expand manufacturing capacity in Brookshire.
Local Manufacturing with Global Reach
Company leaders say expanding production closer to customers will reduce delivery times while improving manufacturing flexibility.
"I am extremely pleased to strengthen our North American production footprint with a new LEED certified factory, featuring one of the most advanced manufacturing setups in the industry," said Bent Jensen, Executive Vice President and Divisional CEO of Grundfos Commercial Building Services. "This marks an important step in our journey in the U.S. and it enables us to deliver more energy-efficient and reliable solutions while driving down energy consumption in buildings and industries."
The project also highlights Brookshire's growing role in international business investment.
"Grundfos' investment in Brookshire is a strong example of the close economic partnership between Denmark and the U.S.," said Jesper Møller Sørensen, Denmark's ambassador to the United States. "Danish companies continue to invest in American communities, creating jobs, strengthening local manufacturing, and delivering innovative solutions that support the industries of the future."
Continuing a Pattern of Investment
Project Falcon is the latest in a series of major investments Grundfos has made in Brookshire over the past several years.
In 2020, the company launched construction of its Grundfos American Headquarters, including a new 48,000-square-foot office building, mechanical support building and extensive site improvements. That project represented approximately $15 million in construction, followed by an additional $7 million interior build-out completed in 2021.
The newest expansion significantly increases the company's manufacturing footprint and reinforces Brookshire's importance within Grundfos' North American operations.
What It Means for Brookshire
Large-scale manufacturing investments often create ripple effects beyond the construction site. Projects of this size typically support construction jobs during development while strengthening demand for local suppliers, contractors, restaurants, hotels and other businesses that serve a growing workforce.
As Brookshire and Waller County continue attracting advanced manufacturing and industrial employers, investments like Grundfos' help diversify the regional economy while reinforcing the area's reputation as a strategic location for companies seeking access to the Greater Houston region, major transportation corridors and a skilled workforce.
Construction on Project Falcon is expected to continue throughout the coming year, with Grundfos anticipating completion during 2027 before production lines begin operating later that year.
Residents can expect visible progress at the Brookshire campus as the expansion takes shape, marking another milestone in both Grundfos' continued growth and Brookshire's evolution as one of West Houston's emerging centers for advanced manufacturing.
