The My Neighborhood News Live Beats Katy series is brought to you in part by Maria Harrington of Katy Area/West Houston Music and spotlights local bands and venues in Katy. Katy Area/West Houston Music is a public Facebook group that brings local musicians together to share information about their upcoming gigs, collaborate and support one another.

Houston-based band Sol Flair, led by vocalist and bass player Tres Page, delivers a contemporary blend of pop, country, and rock inspired by artists like Trent Reznor, Audio Slave, and Alice In Chains.
 
Katy native and Katy High School graduate Alejandro Miramontes specializes in jazz, pop, and rock genres, playing at many local venues across the Katy area. 
 
Ultimo Instinto is a Spanish rock band formed in 2003, known for participating in major events in both the United States and Mexico. Their album "Manos De Angel," featuring hits like "Manos de Angel" and "A Veces Lloro," helped them gain recognition in both countries. They are currently promoting their latest single "Recuerdos" from their new album.

Hugh Morrison, a Scottish musician now residing in Katy, is known for his energetic performances on the squeezebox and guitar.
 
Runaway Radio is a Houston-based band that plays hits from the 80s, 90s and beyond.
