Francone Elementary Student Named CFISD Student of the Week
Francone Elementary School second grade student Sofia Borrego is applauded by her teachers for being a hardworking student.

Accomplishments: Melissa Martin, Francone principal, shares that Borrego is an outstanding student who always helps her peers and is eager to learn every day. She holds herself to a high standard and works hard to accomplish her learning goals. Borrego has completed the One School, One Book Challenge, has completed all STMath and all her Boost Reading Quests. She is also a member of the SOAR (Safe, Ownership, Achieve, Respect) Squad, which means she demonstrates Francone’s campus values each day.
Favorite class: “My favorite class is math because I get to do multiplication and the six and seven problems challenge me.”
Favorite things to do after class: “My favorite thing to do after school is rest because I am always tired after school. I work hard in all my classes, so I just like to rest when I am at home.”
Favorite song: “HandClap by Fitz and The Tantrums. I listen to it every day.”
Favorite website/app: “Amplify, because one of the games makes my sentences better.”
Favorite TV show: “I don’t really watch TV, but I like Deal or No Deal and other game shows. My family and I play along just for fun.”
Favorite movie: “The Nightmare Before Christmas, because the songs are so good, especially the first one.”
Ambition: “I want to be a teacher so I can be in charge.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “Spending time with my family. I want to help them because they help me so much.”
What inspires you?: “My mom. She always encourages me and tells me to do my best.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “My family, my friends and my games like Toco Boca.”
What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I am hoping to get my first SOAR award this year!”
