Fort Bend County Transit Breaks Ground on Westpark Park and Ride

January 29 2024

Fort Bend Transit is developing a new Westpark Park and Ride lot along the westbound frontage road of Westpark Toll Road (FM 1093) shortly before S Mason Road near Cinco Ranch, approximately 10 miles southwest from the Energy Corridor.

Today, officials gathered at the site to commemorate the ground breaking of the Westpark Park and Ride. A total of 262 parking spaces will be available onsite for commuters, along with a canopy and restroom.

Fort Bend County is evaluating options for a new commuter bus service linking the Westpark Park and Ride lot to the Energy Corridor, taking customers to various employment sites around the Energy Corridor area. Construction is slated to wrap up on November 1, 2024, and Fort Bend County officials anticipate services to begin the first quarter of 2025.

“This long-awaited park and ride will take commuters from the Cinco Ranch area to various employment sites in the Energy Corridor,” said Commissioner Vincent Morales via Facebook.

In addition to serving as a park and ride, the property will also be home to a road and bridge facility in the future, which aims to bring road repair workers closer to the fastest-growing areas of Fort Bend County.
