Fort Bend County Judge KP George Commemorates Memorial Day with Remembrance Ceremony
Fort Bend County Judge KP George today hosted a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at the Historic Fort Bend County Courthouse. The event was attended by esteemed guests, including veterans, community members, and distinguished individuals. The ceremony aimed to honor and pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
The program commenced with an invocation delivered by Tim Krugh, Chaplain of Milton Brenner VFW Post 3903 in Rosenberg. Following the invocation, Ken Dillon, Commander of VFW Post 3903, Milton Brenner, Rosenberg, delivered a heartfelt address underscoring the significance of Memorial Day, reminding attendees of the immense gratitude we owe to those who gave their lives defending our freedom.
Dwight Marshall, Fort Bend County Veterans Service Manager, took a moment to acknowledge the veterans in attendance, recognizing their dedication and selflessness in protecting our nation. The event also saw the participation of Sienna Scout Troop 140 and Sienna Cub Scout Pack 1402, who presented the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance with great pride and reverence.
In a touching tribute, the Fort Bend County Honor Guard performed a 21 Gun Salute, followed by the solemn Laying of the Wreaths. The ceremony concluded with a poignant rendition of Taps performed by Gilberto B. Guerrero, a member of the All Glory Honor Guard from VFW Post 3903, Milton Brenner, Rosenberg.
Judge KP George took the opportunity during the program to honor Robert J. Fagan, a remarkable 100-year-old World War II veteran, for his invaluable service to our country. His dedication and sacrifice were recognized as a testament to the spirit of the American soldier. Additionally, Air Force Veteran Frank Cempa was acknowledged for his contributions to the defense of our nation.
