Fort Bend County Clerk Launches 'Buddy’s Buddies' Pet Supply Drive to Support Sugar Paws Pet Pantry

November 05 2025

As the holiday season approaches, the Fort Bend County Clerk’s Office is rallying behind local families and their pets through the launch of the 2025 “Buddy’s Buddies” Pet Supply Donation Drive, benefiting Sugar Paws Pet Pantry, a compassionate program operated by Sugar Land Animal Services.

The drive, organized by County Clerk Laura Richard, runs from November 3 to December 5, with convenient drop-off locations at all Fort Bend County Clerk offices, including the Richmond Travis Building, Justice Center, Missouri City Annex, Sienna Annex, Katy Annex, and Sugar Land Annex.

This community-focused initiative aims to help families experiencing temporary financial hardship continue to care for their beloved pets without having to surrender them. All donated items will be delivered in December to Sugar Paws Pet Pantry, where they will be distributed to local families just in time for the holidays.

“Pets are family, and through this effort, we hope to help families keep their companions by their side during difficult economic times,” said County Clerk Laura Richard. “We are honored to support a program that reflects the heart of our community”.

About Sugar Paws Pet Pantry

The Sugar Paws Pet Pantry is more than just a donation program—it’s a heartfelt mission to help Sugar Land families stay together, one pet at a time. Operated by Sugar Land Animal Services, the pantry provides free pet food and essential supplies to residents who are going through a tough time, whether due to job loss, unexpected expenses, or other hardships.

By offering help when it's needed most, Sugar Paws helps keep pets out of shelters and in the loving homes where they belong. The pantry operates on a request-based system, and residents must complete a Pet Pantry Request Form before picking up supplies.
