FINAL REMINDER: Brookshire’s Heroes Splash Bash Brings Police, Firefighters and Family Fun to Hovas Park
A summer evening at the splash pad will also give Brookshire families a chance to meet the police officers and firefighters who serve their community every day.
The City of Brookshire Police Department and Waller-Harris Emergency Service District No. 200 will host the Heroes Splash Bash from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Hovas Park, located at 1412 FM 359 in Brookshire.
The free community event combines water play, refreshments and hands-on opportunities for children to learn more about local public safety. Families will be able to visit with Brookshire police officers, meet Waller-Harris ESD 200 firefighters and see emergency vehicles up close in a relaxed neighborhood setting.
A Summer Event Built Around Community Connections
For children, the evening offers a chance to cool off at the Hovas Park splash pad while getting a closer look at the people and equipment they may usually see only during an emergency.
Waller-Harris ESD 200 plans to bring Engine 271 and Booster 271, giving families an opportunity to explore the vehicles and learn more about how firefighters respond to calls across the Brookshire area. Brookshire Police officers will also be on hand to meet residents and answer questions.
Those informal conversations can help young children feel more comfortable around first responders while giving parents a chance to connect with the agencies responsible for local police, fire and emergency services.
