East Central ISD Senior Jamilyn Hart Awarded Valero Alamo Bowl Student-Athlete Scholarship
East Central ISD is celebrating one of its seniors whose dedication to academics, athletics, and service has earned her regional recognition.
Jamilyn Hart of East Central High School is a recipient of the 2025 Valero Alamo Bowl Student-Athlete Scholarship, one of 102 awards presented to San Antonio-area seniors this year. Each scholarship totals $7,500, contributing to a record-breaking $765,000 distributed through the program.
Hart is a three-year cross country athlete and also serves as a coach for Rally STX, demonstrating leadership both on and off the field. She is a varsity softball athlete who earned Academic All-District honors and was recognized as Best Teammate while serving as team captain.

Her community involvement includes volunteering at a Pumpkin Patch, assisting with school district elections, participating in 4-H, and serving as a member of the Rosary Society. These experiences, combined with her athletic and academic achievements, exemplify the holistic criteria used by the Valero Alamo Bowl Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship recipients were honored at the annual H-E-B Scholarship Awards Luncheon and will be recognized during the Valero Alamo Bowl on December 30, continuing a tradition that highlights student success in front of thousands of fans.
