
Cypress Falls High School Athletes Commit to College Programs on Spring Signing Day 2025
Cypress Falls High School celebrated an exciting Spring Signing Day on February 5, 2025, as seven student-athletes signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. These athletes, spanning football, volleyball, and soccer, are ready to make an impact at their respective programs.
Football Players Sign with Top College Programs
Seven Cypress Falls football players signed their letters of intent to continue their gridiron careers. Kaleb Burns will play at Baylor University, a private Christian university in Waco, Texas, with an enrollment of over 20,000 students. Chase Ferrell committed to the United States Air Force Academy, a prestigious military institution with about 4,000 cadets in Colorado Springs. Ashton Wilson signed with Marist University, a private liberal arts college in Poughkeepsie, New York, with around 6,500 students.
Lawrence Scott will head to Augustana University, a private Lutheran university in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with an enrollment of roughly 2,100 students. Shawn-Paul Battle is joining The University of Texas Permian Basin, a public university in Odessa, Texas, with around 5,000 students. Lydell Jennings committed to Texas College, a private historically black college in Tyler, Texas. Lastly, Drake Bright is heading to Lincoln University, a public historically black university in Jefferson City, Missouri, with approximately 1,800 students.
Volleyball Standout Joins Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Peyton Blackwell-Spangler signed with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, a highly ranked private engineering school in Terre Haute, Indiana, with about 2,000 students.
Girls’ Soccer Star to Compete at Oklahoma Wesleyan University
Angerica Kelley, a key member of the Cypress Falls girls’ soccer team, will continue her career at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, a private Christian university in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, serving around 1,200 students.
“These student-athletes have demonstrated incredible dedication, perseverance, and excellence, both on and off the field,” said Cypress Falls High School’s athletic director. “We are thrilled to see them achieve their dreams and look forward to watching them succeed at the next level.”
