Cypress Christian School Breaks Ground in Bridgeland

March 06 2024

Excitement was buzzing at the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Cypress Christian School (CCS) campus in Bridgeland on February 23, 2024, signifying a significant milestone for the school and the Bridgeland community. The event was attended by numerous staff members, the board of directors, community residents, and students, who participated in a collective prayer, according to a press release.

Mike Slabic, the CCS board of directors' chairman, emphasized that the relocation would strengthen Christian leadership within the community and nationally, facilitated by a school experience that combines academic rigor with core Christian values. The relocation plan was initiated in 2021 and is set to culminate in an expansive facility nestled in Bridgeland’s Prairieland Village.

The new campus will span 130,000 square feet and accommodate a population of over 1,000 students, from kindergarten through grade 12, complemented by a staff of over 100. It will feature extensive educational facilities, enhanced athletics amenities, a fine arts building, and ample parking.

CCS has been renowned for offering a comprehensive education rooted in excellence and biblical values, while also celebrating outstanding achievements in fine arts programs and athletics. The school maintains a favorable student-to-teacher ratio of 13:1 for honors and AP classes and takes pride in a 100% graduate acceptance rate to colleges and universities. Moreover, the CCS Warriors have clinched state titles in various sports and fine arts categories under the Texas Association of Private & Parochial Schools (TAPPS).

Bearing the distinction of being named the Master Planned Community of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders, Bridgeland is thrilled to enhance its academic offerings with the arrival of CCS. Situated in the vicinity of Prairieland Creek Drive and Bridgeland Creek Parkway, the school is set to open doors to students in August 2025, with re-enrollment starting in January of the same year.
