Cy-Fest 2026 Returns to Lone Star College-CyFair With Free Fall Fun, Food Trucks and Family Activities
For families looking for free fall events in Cypress and Cy-Fair, one of the area’s longest-running community celebrations is preparing to fill the Lone Star College-CyFair campus with pumpkins, music, children’s activities and plenty of neighbors.
Cy-Fest 2026 – A Celebration of Community, Creativity, and Connection will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at Lone Star College-CyFair. Now in its 19th year, the free, family-friendly festival is designed to bring residents onto the campus for a day that blends traditional fall fun with hands-on learning, local organizations and entertainment.
For Cy-Fair residents, that longevity is part of what distinguishes the festival. Cy-Fest was created as a gift from the college to the surrounding community, drawing families onto a campus that has become closely connected with the growth of Cypress and northwest Harris County. Lone Star College has previously described the festival as an opportunity to reflect the community and its shared commitment to making Cy-Fair a good place to live, work and raise a family.
What Families Can Expect at Cy-Fest 2026
This year’s festival will once again turn the Lone Star College-CyFair campus into a collection of experiences for different ages and interests.
Families can stop at the pumpkin patch for fall photos, while younger visitors can spend time in the STEAM Zone, bounce houses and arts activities. Live entertainment will include the Praise Performing Arts Center, along with performers from the college and surrounding community.
The combination gives parents something increasingly valuable during the fall season: an outing where children can play, create and experiment with science, technology, engineering, arts and math without an admission charge.
Adults, meanwhile, can visit with community organizations, enjoy performances and food, and reconnect with neighbors while children explore the festival.
All festival activities are free and open to the public.
Food Trucks Bring Local Flavor to the Festival
A community festival generally works up an appetite, and three food trucks are currently listed for Cy-Fest 2026:
- Foreign Policy
- Texas Cut
- Sweet Remedy Haus
Food trucks provide visitors an option to purchase lunch, snacks and treats while spending the day on campus.
The lineup adds another local dimension to an event built around giving families reasons to linger rather than simply stop by.
A Cy-Fair Tradition That Keeps Evolving
Cy-Fest has changed over the years, but its focus on connecting the college with the people living around it has remained consistent.
The festival originally began in 2005 as the college’s gift to the community, drawing thousands of visitors, including residents who had never previously visited the Lone Star College-CyFair campus. Earlier editions have included attractions ranging from train rides and petting zoos to pumpkin patches, bounce houses, live entertainment and community information booths.
That community connection was especially visible during Cy-Fest 2025, when the event centered on the theme “Our Campus. Our Community. Our Legacy.”
Ahead of last year’s celebration, Michelle Tran, Executive Director of Communications, Outreach & Engagement at LSC-CyFair, described the effort that goes into creating the event.
“Bringing Cy-Fest to life has always been a labor of love for our team, and we can’t wait to see our campus buzzing with laughter, creativity and connection on Oct. 4,” Tran said at the time. “This year’s festival is a vibrant celebration of our shared legacy, and we’ve poured our hearts into creating a day where everyone can make memories and feel the spirit of the Cy-Fair community!”
Thousands ultimately attended Cy-Fest 2025, which included live music, pumpkin painting, a foam party, food trucks and other activities, according to Lone Star College-CyFair.
Last year also brought a partnership with Cy-Fair Helping Hands to support Lone Star College-CyFair’s Empowerment Center, which assists students facing needs that can extend beyond the classroom.
Explaining that effort ahead of the 2025 event, Cy-Fair Helping Hands Executive Director Janet Ryan said, “We understand firsthand what it’s like to need food and school supplies when times are tough. There’s something incredibly meaningful about being able to provide tangible items that directly meet someone’s immediate needs. It just feels right.”
Cy-Fest also gave former LSC-CyFair student Rachel Sheffield an opportunity to return as a festival brand ambassador in 2025.
“This fall feels like coming home back on the campus that played a pivotal role in shaping my career,” Sheffield said ahead of that event. “I’ll be bringing my charisma, fashion and enthusiasm to celebrate with you all … and to celebrate the spirit of community, tradition and legacy.”
Those stories offer a glimpse into why Cy-Fest has remained on the local calendar: the festival is not only geared toward entertaining families for a few hours, but also toward connecting the college, its students, alumni, businesses, nonprofits and surrounding neighborhoods.
