Cy-Fair ISD Schools Partner with Basketball For All

March 05 2025

Scottie Stevens, CFISD customer care supervisor, started the nonprofit organization Basketball for All to unify students with special needs in the CFISD community through sports.

Stevens started Basketball for All with a group of high school students playing basketball alongside their peers with special needs. The idea grew to Stevens hoping to build opportunities and openings that are normally not available to many people in the special needs community.

Currently partnered with five CFISD high schools—Cypress Creek, Cypress Falls, Cypress Springs, Cypress Woods and Jersey Village high schools—Stevens hopes to soon be in collaboration with all 12 CFISD high schools. Basketball For All is a halftime staple throughout the CFISD basketball season and during the annual Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational at the Berry Center.

“We’re dedicated to encouraging inclusion and bringing awareness for the special needs community through basketball,” Stevens said. “Our main mission is to fill that gap and provide a platform for these individuals to stay connected with their peers and showcase their abilities.”
