The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD community once again demonstrated the power of local support and agricultural pride during the 32nd Annual CFISD Livestock Show Association (LSA) Show and Sale, held Feb. 5–7 at the CFISD Exhibit Center.
This year’s event generated $750,000 in support of student-led agriculture projects, continuing a decades-long tradition of investing in the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs and skilled trades professionals.

Honoring Legacy: Show Dedicated to Past Champions
The 32nd Annual Show and Sale was dedicated to past show champions for their unwavering dedication, perseverance and achievements that have left a lasting legacy within CFISD agriculture and livestock programs.
The dedication reflected a deeper theme that continues to define the CFISD Livestock Show Association: excellence rooted in tradition, mentorship and community investment.
Introducing the Debbie Blackshear FFA Member of the Year Award
This year’s event also marked the introduction of the Debbie Blackshear FFA Member of the Year Award.
The award honors an outstanding CFISD FFA student who demonstrates exceptional leadership, dedication and character within the FFA community. Blackshear, who served on the CFISD Board of Trustees from 2015–2023, was a strong advocate for FFA programs and remained actively involved in the Livestock Show through committee service and live auction participation.
The inaugural recipient will be recognized at the May Regular Board Meeting, with their name memorialized on a plaque displayed at the CFISD Exhibit Center.
District Leadership Praises Student Dedication
“I am incredibly proud of the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD agriculture students who compete in this annual event,” said Mark Williams, director of career and technical education. “Their success is a testament to their dedication, commitment and the passion of their agriculture science instructors. Our students, instructors and agriculture program exemplify the incredible opportunities we provide in CFISD.”
His words echoed what many families and buyers experience firsthand each year: students emerging not only with awards, but with confidence, work ethic and professional skills that extend far beyond the show ring.
