Converse Back-to-School Bash to Bring Free Backpacks, Haircuts, Prizes and Family Fun to North Park July 25

June 27 2026

As summer begins winding down, Converse families will have an opportunity to celebrate together while checking a few important back-to-school items off their list.

The Converse Parks & Recreation Commission is inviting residents to attend its FREE Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 25, 2026, bringing together local organizations, businesses and volunteers for an afternoon focused on helping students head into the new school year prepared and excited. From free backpacks filled with school supplies to children's haircuts, games and prize giveaways, the event is designed to support local families while strengthening community connections.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Converse North Park, located at 8200 Spring Town St., Converse, TX 78109.

Helping Students Start the School Year Strong

Preparing for a new school year can be expensive, making community events like this especially meaningful for many households.

One of the day's biggest highlights will be the distribution of 200 backpacks filled with school supplies. Organizers remind families that children must be present to receive a backpack, and supplies will be available while they last.

In addition, free children's haircuts will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, giving students another confidence boost before heading back to class.

Fun for the Whole Family

While students prepare for the upcoming school year, the Back-to-School Bash is also designed as a community celebration with activities for every age.

Families can enjoy:

  • Bounce house fun
  • Basketball games
  • Community activities
  • Giveaways throughout the event
  • Opportunities to connect with local organizations and neighbors

Organizers are also planning two separate prize drawings—one for children and one for adults—giving attendees plenty of chances to head home with something special.

Community Partners Make It Possible

The annual event is made possible through the support of numerous community partners and local businesses working together to invest in Converse students and families.

Participating organizations include the Greater Northeast Little League, Converse Police Department, Converse Library, H-E-B, State Farm agent Lars Nielsen, Air and Drain Works, Wright and Sons Logistics, Converse Police Academy Alumni, KC Renovations, Velvet Oasis Events and several other local businesses and community supporters.

Their combined efforts help ensure families can enjoy a fun-filled afternoon while easing some of the financial burden that often comes with preparing for a new school year.
