City of Houston's BARC Animal Shelter to Host Pick Your Pet Adoption Event with Reduced Adoption Fees
The City of Houston's municipal Animal Shelter, BARC, is inviting all pet lovers to the much-anticipated 'Pick Your Pet' adoption event slated for Friday, March 22. From 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, this adopt-a-thon offers a unique opportunity for prospective pet owners to adopt a new furry friend for a reduced fee of only $13.
Sponsored by Gillman Subaru and The Proler Family, this exceptional event isn't just about pet adoption. It promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family, featuring local vendors, exciting giveaways, and much more.
Every year, BARC receives over 15,000 animals, many of which are adoptable and made available to the public. It's through events like 'Pick Your Pet' that thousands of these pets have been able to find their forever homes.
Generally, adoption fees at BARC are $50 for adult dogs (5 months and older), $75 for puppies (4 months and under), and $20 for both adult cats (5 months and older) and kittens (4 months and under). However, it's worth noting that adoption fees are waived every day for Veterans and active Military members as part of BARC's Veteran Companion program.
All adoptions at BARC include Spay or Neuter surgery, dewormer, age-appropriate vaccinations, rabies vaccination, flea prevention, a pet microchip, and a one-year registration with the City of Houston.
To preview some of the adoptable pets, visit BARC's website at houstontx.gov/barc/adopt_a_pet.html. The event will take place at BARC's Adoption Center located at 3300 Carr St. Houston TX, 77026, just minutes away from downtown Houston off of the Eastex Freeway (59) and the Collingsworth/Calvacade/Kelly exit.
Don't miss your chance to find your new furry best friend at this pawsome event!
