Chill Out with the City of Fulshear: Family-Friendly 'Touch-A-Truck' Event Brings Community Together at Eagle Landing Park

April 22 2026

After a stretch of rainy weather across the Fulshear area, the City of Fulshear is looking ahead to clearer skies with an event designed to bring residents back outdoors in a simple, family-friendly way.

“Chill Out with the City,” scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Eagle Landing Park, offers a casual opportunity for families to spend time together while connecting with city staff and exploring interactive activities.

A Closer Look at the Event Layout

According to the event map released by the City of Fulshear, the setup is designed to keep things easy to navigate for attendees arriving throughout the afternoon.

Key areas include:

  • A City of Fulshear information booth, where residents can stop by with questions or learn more about local services
  • A designated area for food trucks, with items available for purchase
  • The Touch-A-Truck zone, expected to be a central draw for families with young children

The layout places these activities within close proximity, allowing families to move between them without needing to travel far across the park.

Touch-A-Truck Returns as a Family Favorite

One of the highlights of the event is the Touch-A-Truck experience, a format that continues to grow in popularity at community events across Fort Bend County.

Children will have the chance to see and explore various service vehicles up close—offering a hands-on way to learn about the equipment used in everyday city operations. For many families, it’s a straightforward but memorable way to turn a typical afternoon at the park into something a bit more interactive.

Free Snow Cones for Early Attendees

To help residents cool off, the City is offering free snow cones to the first 200 people who arrive at the event.

With limited quantities available, attendees interested in the giveaway may want to plan for an earlier arrival within the 2–4 p.m. window.

A Simple Way to Spend an Afternoon in Fulshear

Eagle Landing Park is one of Fulshear’s newer public spaces—built in response to the city’s rapid growth and the increasing need for places where families, teams, and neighbors can gather.

Officially opened to the pubic in November 2025, the park came to life after more than a year of planning and construction, representing an investment of nearly $4.7 million to expand recreational opportunities on this side of town. It features three full-size soccer fields along with additional youth fields, a central playground, shaded picnic areas, and a concession and restroom facility designed to support everything from casual visits to organized games and events.

Its layout was intentionally designed to handle both—with more than 300 parking spaces split between two entrances and distinct areas for play, spectators, and open space. On any given day, that might look like a youth soccer practice on one field, a family at the playground, and others simply enjoying some time outside.

Events like “Chill Out with the City” offer another way for residents to experience the space—whether it’s their first visit or just a different reason to come back. With room to spread out and explore, it gives families a chance to see what the park offers beyond the usual routines, all in a setting that was built with the community’s long-term growth in mind.
