Chick-fil-A Copperfield Adopts Cypress Falls High School and Owens Elementary in Heartfelt Community Partnership
Families in Copperfield have long known Chick-fil-A Copperfield as more than just a place to grab a favorite meal—it’s a cornerstone of community connection. Now, that connection is growing even deeper as Chick-fil-A Copperfield has officially adopted Cypress Falls High School and Owens Elementary School through Cypress-Fairbanks ISD’s Adopt-a-School program.
Representatives from the restaurant visited both campuses earlier this month to announce the new partnership, and the excitement from both schools was immediate and heartfelt. The Adopt-a-School initiative is a meaningful way for local businesses to support education by contributing time, resources, and encouragement to CFISD campuses—and this latest partnership is a perfect match for the Copperfield community.
A Local Leader Committed to Serving More Than Meals
Sydnea Rutland, owner/operator of Chick-fil-A Copperfield, has made it clear that her team’s mission goes far beyond the restaurant walls.
“This is a goal that we are proud to accomplish,” Rutland said during the campus visits. “We are excited to understand the needs of both campuses and see how we can serve the staff, students and families.”

Rutland’s dedication to Copperfield has been evident since the restaurant’s grand reopening in August 2025. The extensively rebuilt location on Highway 6 reintroduced itself to the community with not only modern amenities, a new playground, and expanded seating—but also a renewed commitment to local partnerships, from spirit nights to school fundraisers and even blood drives.
This new collaboration with Cy-Falls High School and Owens Elementary deepens that commitment and aligns perfectly with the restaurant’s mission of being a “community hub” for families throughout the area.
Principals Praise the Partnership
Both school leaders expressed immense gratitude and enthusiasm for what the partnership means to their campuses.
“We are so excited to be adopted by Chick-fil-A Copperfield,” said Cypress Falls High School Principal Kyle Parsons. “Sydnea and her team have been so supportive of our campus, and we are excited about the endless possibility with this amazing partnership.”

Principal César Díaz of Owens Elementary echoed that sentiment, highlighting how impactful this kind of support can be.
“I am very excited for our school to partner with Chick-fil-A Copperfield,” Díaz said. “This is a fantastic opportunity for public education and the private sector to unite forces for the success of our students. I can’t wait to see the tremendous positive impact that we will make.”
Strengthening Community Ties in Copperfield
With both schools located in the heart of the Copperfield area, and zoned for the Cypress Falls High School and Owens Elementary School attendance zones, the Adopt-a-School partnership offers a natural synergy between the restaurant and the local families it serves daily.
Residents of Copperbrook and surrounding neighborhoods can expect to see the partnership come to life in a variety of ways—support for school staff appreciation events, student recognition programs, participation in school events, and more. Chick-fil-A Copperfield is also well known for offering fundraising support and even event supplies for community gatherings, all of which could further benefit these two campuses.
For Rutland and her team, it’s about “serving our community even better than ever before”—something she emphasized during the grand reopening of the restaurant. That same spirit now flows into local classrooms, playgrounds, and cafeterias.

More Than Just a Meal—It’s a Movement
This growing partnership highlights an ongoing trend across the Greater Houston area: local businesses stepping up to support schools, and in doing so, building a stronger community. As the school year unfolds, parents, educators, and students alike can look forward to the benefits of this adoption in both big and small ways.
And for anyone grabbing a sandwich or sweet tea at 8440 Hwy 6, it’s comforting to know that every visit helps support a business that’s actively investing in the future of Cy-Falls HS, Owens ES, and the entire Copperfield area.
