Champions That Made History: Katy ISD Hall of Honor Celebrates Class of 2025 Legends
Legacy Stadium lit up with celebration as Katy ISD welcomed back some of its most iconic athletic figures during the 2025 Athletic Hall of Honor induction ceremony. This year’s honorees included standout athletes, respected coaches, and two unforgettable championship teams whose victories still echo in local sports history — the 2015 Katy High School Football and Softball State Champions.
Now in its ninth year, the Hall of Honor continues to recognize individuals and teams whose athletic achievements and character reflect the core values of the Katy ISD Athletic Department: attitude, character, commitment, leadership, sportsmanship, responsibility, accountability, decision-making, work ethic, and teamwork.
“It’s always a privilege to welcome them home and celebrate their achievements with their families and those who knew them best,” said Executive Director of Athletics Lance Carter. “We remain inspired by how these individuals continue to exemplify Katy ISD’s values long after their time here.”
2015 Katy High School Football: A Season of Dominance
Few teams in Texas high school football history have commanded the field like the 2015 Katy Tigers. With an undefeated 16–0 record, they outscored opponents by a staggering 778 to 62. Their defense recorded 10 shutouts, including four consecutive just before playoffs, and allowed only 18 points during the regular season — one of the most dominant runs in UIL history.
The Tigers clinched the UIL Class 6A Division II State Championship with a resounding 34–7 win over Austin Lake Travis, earning the program its eighth state title, which tied Katy High School for the most state football championships in Texas at that time.

The game was decided in the bottom of the seventh inning, when McKay Bloxham hit an RBI single that brought home Nicole Valdez for the winning run — a defining moment that remains etched in the memory of Katy fans. The win marked a milestone for the softball program and solidified the 2015 team’s legacy as one of the best in school history.
