CFISD Football Players Named to 2023 All-District 16-6A, 17-6A Teams

District 16-6A football coaches released the All-District Team following the conclusion of each team’s postseason. 

Four different CFISD teams were represented among the district superlatives. Cypress Falls High School senior running back Trey Morris was voted Offensive MVP for a second consecutive season. Cypress Springs High School junior defensive lineman Ryan Lynch and Cypress Falls junior linebacker Kaleb Burns were named co-Defensive MVP. 

Cypress Springs High School junior defensive lineman Ryan Lynch (No. 55) was voted the District 16-6A co-Defensive MVP alongside Cypress Falls High School junior linebacker Kaleb Burns. 
 

Cypress Woods High School freshman running back Wayne Shanks Jr. was voted Offensive Newcomer of the Year, Cypress Ranch High School sophomore linebacker Ayden Combs was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year. 

Bridgeland High School Head Coach Lonnie Madison was voted Coach of the Year. He led the Bears to the District 16-6A championship.

In addition to the District 16-6A team, District 17-6A football coaches released the All-District Team following the conclusion of each team’s postseason. 

Cy-Fair High School senior quarterback Trey Owens was voted the District 17-6A Offensive MVP for a second consecutive season. 
 
District champion Cy-Fair High School earned three district superlatives, which included senior quarterback Trey Owens being voted Offensive MVP for a second consecutive season. Junior defensive lineman Landon Rink was named Defensive MVP and Head Coach Jeff Miller was named Coach of the Year after leading the Bobcats to the league championship for a second straight year. 
Cy-Fair High School Head Football Coach Jeff Miller, left, was named District 17-6A Coach of the Year. Miller led the Bobcats to a second consecutive undefeated district championship. 
 

Cypress Creek High School sophomore running back Garland Wilburn was unanimously voted as the Offensive Newcomer of the Year. 

Stratford High School junior Tiergan Burl was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year.
