Carrabba’s Italian Grill Coming to Tomball with $2.75M Ground-Up Restaurant
Tomball foodies, get ready to pull up a chair. Carrabba’s Italian Grill is officially on its way to town.
The iconic Houston-founded restaurant known for its from-scratch Italian dishes and deeply rooted family traditions is opening a brand-new location in Tomball at 13215 N Grand Parkway W, Tomball, TX 77377, within The Grand at 249. According to public records, construction is expected to begin in June 2026, with completion anticipated by March 2027. The $2.75 million project will bring a 5,242-square-foot standalone restaurant to northwest Harris County.
Carrabba’s is more than just pasta and wood-fired chicken — it’s the story of two Sicilian boys from Texas who grew up in bustling kitchens, where every life event centered around food and family.
“We’re two Sicilian boys from Texas who love to cook and eat,” wrote founders Johnny Carrabba and Damian Mandola. “Food is what reminded us we were family.”
What’s on the Menu: From Scratch, with Love
The new Tomball location will carry on that same spirit — mixing the bold, rustic flavors of Sicily with a little Texas warmth and Southern charm. Expect to see longtime menu favorites like Chicken Bryan, Pollo Rosa Maria, and house-made Lasagne alongside seasonal dishes and classic Italian desserts like tiramisu and cannoli cake.

Carrabba’s menu spans a wide variety of crowd-pleasers: wood-grilled steaks and chops like the Tuscan-Grilled Ribeye, fresh seafood entrées including Salmon Capperi and Lemon Butter Pesto Branzino, and traditional Italian staples such as Eggplant Parmesan, Shrimp Scampi, and Fettuccine Alfredo. Signature pasta dishes are made with sauces prepared from scratch daily, and vegetarian and gluten-free options are thoughtfully included throughout the menu.
Family Bundles for takeout, a full kids’ “Bambini” menu, and hand-crafted specialty cocktails like the Pomegranate Martini and Sicilian Prickly Pear Margarita round out the offerings. Guests can also enjoy Italian-inspired appetizers like meatballs and ricotta, calamari, and the fan-favorite Four-Cheese & Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms.
Designed for Gathering, Built on Tradition
Guests can also look forward to Carrabba’s signature open kitchen design, where you can catch a glimpse of chefs working the grill or stirring sauce pots just like their grandmothers did. Whether it’s a date night at the bar, a big family dinner at the Family Table, or a quick pick-up for carside carry-out, the new space is being designed with community and connection in mind.
The Carrabba and Mandola families’ journey from Galveston and Houston’s East End to the national dining scene has always been rooted in staying true to their culinary heritage.
“To my Mamma, Grace, the greatest cook I ever knew, who not only taught me the basics of good cooking, but also the importance of having family gather at the table, often,” Damian Mandola shared in tribute.

A Legacy of Hospitality Since 1986
Carrabba’s began back in 1986 with a 94-seat restaurant on Kirby Drive in Houston, opened with $500 borrowed from Johnny Carrabba’s dad. The idea was simple: share their family’s recipes in a welcoming space that felt more like a home than a business. Today the brand has over 200 locations across the country. “Whadya eat?” was often the first question asked at any family gathering — and it’s a sentiment that still flavors every dish they serve.
“This is the way the old folks taught the young folks. This is the way we remember things tasting,” the founders wrote.
For Tomball, the arrival of Carrabba’s isn’t just another new restaurant — it’s a reminder that food can still feel like home. And in a town that values connection, community, and tradition, it’s a perfect fit.
Stay tuned for more details as construction progresses and get ready to say "ciao" to your new neighborhood Italian kitchen.
