Brookwood Casserole Delivery Days Return to Help Memorial, Richmond and Katy Families Ease Back Into School
August has a way of arriving all at once. Between school supply lists, meet-the-teacher nights, sports practices, college move-ins and the return of weeknight routines, dinner can quickly become one more thing families are trying to solve on the fly.
This year, The Brookwood Community is once again offering a practical answer with a purpose. Brookwood Casserole Delivery Days are now open for pre-order, giving families in Memorial, Richmond and Katy an easy way to stock the freezer before the busiest weeks of back-to-school season begin.
The frozen casseroles serve two to four people and are designed for the kind of evenings many local households know well — when everyone is coming home from different directions, the grocery store feels like too much, and a warm meal still matters.
Three Delivery Days Planned Across Greater Houston
The first three Brookwood Casserole Delivery Days will take place in August at convenient pickup locations across the west Houston area:
- August 7 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Memorial (12955 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77079)
- August 14 at Gallery Furniture in Richmond (7227 W Grand Pkwy S, Richmond, TX 77407)
- August 21 at Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy (20555 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77450)
Families can choose from three Brookwood favorites: Beef & Spinach Lasagna, Fiesta Chicken Enchilada and King Ranch Chicken, a returning favorite among Brookwood supporters. Each casserole is $35, with savings available for larger orders. Customers who buy five or more can save 5% with the code 5CASS, while those who buy 10 or more can save 10% with the code 10CASS.
Pre-orders are available through Brookwood’s online store at brookwoodstore.org/collections/events.
More Than Dinner: A Mission That Reaches Beyond the Table
For many local families, Brookwood is already a familiar name because of its café, gift shop, garden center and seasonal events in Brookshire. The Brookwood Community serves adults with disabilities, known at Brookwood as Citizens, through residential, day program and work opportunities centered on dignity, purpose and meaningful contribution. Its stated vision is “changing the way the world thinks about adults with disabilities.”
That mission is part of what makes these casserole delivery days more than a convenient meal pickup. Every order helps support the Citizens who live and work at Brookwood, including those who contribute through campus enterprises, retail, horticulture, hospitality and other programs that give adults with disabilities opportunities to grow, work and participate in community life.
The Café at Brookwood, located at 1502 FM 1489 in Brookshire, has also become part of the broader Brookwood experience, giving visitors a place to enjoy lunch while shopping the adjacent gift shop and garden center. Brookwood’s main campus and retail destination have long helped connect the public to the organization’s work in a personal way — through meals, plants, gifts and everyday interactions with the Citizens who help bring the mission to life.
A Helpful Option for Busy Families in Memorial, Richmond and Katy
Brookwood is opening the delivery days just as August calendars begin filling up with carpools, college move-ins, teacher meet-and-greets and the everyday shuffle that comes with getting families back into a school-year routine. The casserole delivery format allows customers to pre-order online, pick up close to home and keep dinner ready for a night when schedules are stretched.
For parents and caregivers, it is the kind of help that fits real life: a ready-made dinner in the freezer for the nights when homework, practices, errands and traffic all seem to land at once. At the same time, each order supports Brookwood’s Citizens and the meaningful work happening every day at The Brookwood Community.
That combination has made Brookwood’s food offerings especially meaningful to supporters. A family can buy dinner for the week, send a casserole to a teacher, stock up for a neighbor, or keep one on hand for a night when back-to-school routines feel especially full.
How to Pre-Order Brookwood Casseroles
Brookwood casseroles must be pre-ordered online before pickup. The first three available delivery dates are August 7 in Memorial, August 14 in Richmond and August 21 in Katy.
Orders are available at brookwoodstore.org/collections/events, where families can select their preferred pickup date and casserole options.
For Greater Houston families looking for easy back-to-school dinner ideas, frozen family meals near Memorial, Richmond or Katy, or a meaningful way to support adults with disabilities in the Houston area, Brookwood Casserole Delivery Days offer both convenience and community impact.
